Suspected Jewish extremists scrawled "Death to Christianity" on a Jerusalem church on Monday in the latest hate crime targeting Palestinians, police said.

The words "Price Tag," a slogan used by ultranationalist Jewish settlers, were also scrawled on the walls of the Baptist Narkis Street Congregation in a quiet residential neighborhood in Jewish west Jerusalem.

"Officers are investigating a strong possibility of a (Jewish) nationalist motive but no one has been apprehended yet," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

The graffiti also included profanity about Jesus, and the vandals slashed the tires of several cars parked in the church compound.

The "Price Tag" term refers to retribution settlers say they will exact for any attempt by the Israeli government to curb illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank, an area Palestinians seek as part of a future state.

Two weeks ago, similar graffiti was scrawled on the 11th-century Monastery of the Cross which is also in west Jerusalem, but no suspects have been arrested, Rosenfeld said.

Israeli officials regularly condemn such attacks, but rarely arrest the perpetrators.

In January, Israel barred 12 Jewish extremists involved in such attacks from entering the West Bank for up to a year, none of whom were detained or imprisoned.

The move appears to have had no effect on reducing Jewish extremist violence.

Jewish settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law, but construction continues to the detriment of the indigenous Palestinian population.

Israel has maintained a military occupation of the West Bank since 1967, and imposes harsh restrictions on native Palestinians while the settler community enjoys a number of privileges, including Jewish-only roads.

The Jewish state also maintains a siege on Gaza.

Wonders what the "religous right" thinks of this - and all these politicians who worship the ground that Jews walk on and pledge thier unending support for the satanic state of Israel!
