The day the Egyptians lost their fear - hopefully one day we will wake up as well and lose our fear!

Remember also that Israel is a strong supporter of the current Egyptian regime

Of interest to me is that most of the protestors look decently dressed, most speaking very good English.

Also interesting is how many of these countries now experiencing serious political unrest have endured decades-long dictatorships, propped up, it would seem, by us?? Why else would we, now nearly broke ourselves, be providing billions of dollars in 'aid' to countries that ought to be able to stand on their own?

Egypt is not a poor country, yet it is 'reported' that over 50% of the populace exists on the equivalent of less than $2.00 U.S. dollars per day?

The Governments in nearly a dozen mid-East countries seem poised to fall, one after another. One can only hope common sense and responsibility trump hate-mongering.

Does this portend something greater?

Weather also again, taking center stage, just in time for another blessed Feast of Our Lady: huge US snow and icestorms, possible tornadoes in the South; another huge hurricane/typhoon heading towards Australia; serious volcano eruption in Japan...

Well, I'm sure the byword for us Catholics is, as always: 'watch and pray.'

Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us!
