Andy is a gentleman who denies the Catholic teaching regarding the Eucharist and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and asked how we understand Hebrews 10:12
Hebrews 10:12 states:
"But this man, offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God"
We understand this to mean exactly what it says - Andy what you fail to realize is that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacrifice of Calvary are one and the same Sacrifice - you see, God being God can do all things and nothing is impossible for Him.
To back up this claim - consider some of the following quotes from Scripture - starting with the Old Testament:
"For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts"
The prophet Malachi is CLEARLY telling us of the coming Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - that is the ONLY sacrifice that is offered from the rising of the sun to its going down, in every place, and is a clean oblation.
ONLY Jesus' Sacrifice was a CLEAN OBLATION - and in the previous verse to the above quote God makes it clear that he is NOT happy with the sacrifices of the Hebrews and then predicts the Sacrifice that will please Him - THE MASS!
Some claim that this passage refers to Calvary - but it cannot -f or it says that this sacrifice is in EVERY PLACE - Calvary is only ONE PLACE.
Our loving God made it possible that all people, in all places, and in all times - can be present at the Sacrifice of Calvary and can offer this same Sacrifice to the Father. This happens through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
To give further evidence of this consider the words of St. Paul:
1 Corinthians 10:16:
"The chalice of benediction which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? And the bread which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord? "
Catholics answer St. Paul - YES!
"We have an altar whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle."
An altar has only one purpose - SACRIFICE!
We not only have the testimony of Scripture - but we have the testimony of virtually all Christians from the time of the Apostles until the protestant revolt.
The first Christians after the Apostles speak of the Sacrifice of the Altar and the Eucharist as do all Christians until the protestant revolt.
We believe as all Christians have believed since the time of Christ.

More than 100,000 Britons have recently downloaded "certificates of de-baptism" from the Internet to renounce their Christian faith.
The initiative launched by a group called the National Secular Society (NSS) follows atheist campaigns here and elsewhere, including a London bus poster which triggered protests by proclaiming "There's probably no God."
"John Hunt, a 58-year-old from London and one of the first to try to be "de-baptised," held that he was too young to make any decision when he was christened at five months old.
The male nurse said he approached the Church of England to ask it to remove his name. "They said they had sought legal advice and that I should place an announcement in the London Gazette," said Hunt, referring to one of the official journals of record of the British government.
So that's what he did -- his notice of renouncement was published in the Gazette in May 2008 and other Britons have followed suit.
Michael Evans, 66, branded baptising children as "a form of child abuse" -- and said that when he complained to the church where he was christened he was told to contact the European Court of Human Rights.
The Church of England said its official position was not to amend its records. "Renouncing baptism is a matter between the individual and God," a Church spokesman told AFP.
"We are not a 'membership' church, and do not keep a running total of the number of baptised people in the Church of England, and such totals do not feature in the statistics that we regularly publish," he added.
De-baptism organisers say the initiative is a response to what they see as increasing stridency from churches -- the latest last week when Pope Benedict XVI stirred global controversy on a trip to AIDS-ravaged Africa by saying condom use could further spread of the disease.
"The Catholic Church is so politically active at the moment that I think that is where the hostility is coming from," said Sanderson. "In Catholic countries there is a very strong feeling of wanting to punish the church by leaving it."
In Britain, where government figures say nearly 72 percent of the population list themselves as Christian, Sanderson feels this "hostility" is fueling the de-baptism movement.
Theologian Paul Murray at Durham University disagrees. "That is not my experience," he said, but concedes that change is in the air.
"We are in an interesting climate where Catholicism and other belief systems have moved into the public, pluralist arena, alongside secularists," he said.
De-baptism movements have already sprung up in other countries.
In Spain, the high court ruled in favor of a man from Valencia, Manuel Blat, saying that under data protection laws he could have the record of his baptism erased, according to a report in the International Herald Tribune.
Similarly, the Italian Union of Rationalists and Agnostics (UAAR) won a legal battle over the right to file for de-baptism in 2002, according to media reports. The group's website carries a "de-baptism" form to facilitate matters.
According to UAAR secretary Raffaele Carcano, more than 60,000 of these forms have been downloaded in the past four years and continue to be downloaded at a rate of about 2,000 per month. Another 1,000 were downloaded in one day when the group held its first national de-baptism day last October 25.
Elsewhere, an Argentinian secularist movement is running a "Collective Apostasy" campaign, using the slogan "Not in my name" (No en mi nombre).
Sanderson hopes rulings in other European countries will pave the way for legal action in Britain, since European Union directives require a level of parity among member states' legislation.
"That would be a good precedent for us to say to the British Information Commissioner: Come on, what's your excuse?" said Sanderson.
The bus-side posters that hit London in January sported the message: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."
The scheme was in response to pro-Christian adverts on buses directing passers-by to a website warning those who did not accept Jesus would suffer for eternity in hell.
Comedy writer Ariane Sherine, mastermind of the British bus campaign that saw a copycat version in Barcelona and other cities, said she backs the "de-baptism" movement but insisted the two initiatives were separate.
Sanderson meanwhile remains resolute. "The fact that people are willing to pay for the parchments shows how seriously they are taking them," he said.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on March 19 approved Johnsen’s nomination by 11 to 7 for a full vote on the Senate floor.
The Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group opposing her nomination, reports some of its 154,000 members have sent over 26,000 letters of opposition to their U.S. Senators.
“Johnsen's opposition to existing federal restrictions like the ban on partial-birth abortion casts doubt on her ability to perform her duties faithfully as the head of the Office of Legal Counsel,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
The Susan B. Anthony list has voiced concerns about Johnsen’s pro-abortion rhetoric, especially as found in her amicus curiae brief in the case Webster v. Reproductive Health Services.
There, Johnsen said that abortion restrictions “reduce pregnant women to no more than fetal containers.”
Johnsen attacked arguments that pregnant women consent to their pregnancy, saying those “who are the inevitable losers in the contraceptive lottery no more 'consent' to pregnancy than pedestrians 'consent' to being struck by drunk drivers.”
“Her bizarre characterizations of pregnancy as 'slavery' and mothers as 'losers in the contraceptive lottery' expose an unacceptable disdain for commonsense abortion restrictions and motherhood in general.

The newspaper, and Cohen in particular, has been accused of being too critical of Israel and an apologist for Iran and its leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Cohen's column was written from Iran about the country's small Jewish minority. His piece acknowledged the difficulties the group experienced and portrayed them as part of an Iranian society that he said was more tolerant, democratic and sophisticated than many American critics allowed.
"How DARE you describe Iran as it really is, instead of how we wish it to be seen!!!!!!"

In adopting the new science standards, the board dropped a 20-year requirement that teachers address both the "strengths and weaknesses" of scientific theories. The vote was 13-2.
The new curriculum will be in place for the next decade.
"Texas now has the most progressive science standards on evolution in the entire nation," said Dr. John West, Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute, an intelligent design think tank, in a statement. "Texas has sent a clear message that evolution should be taught as a scientific theory open to critical scrutiny, not as a sacred dogma that can't be questioned."...

Will U.S. financial woes lead to new world order?
By Adam Abrams
Is the U.S. about to lose its status as the dominant global superpower? Will the dollar collapse? If so, what would become the new global reserve currency and what would replace U.S. hegemony in a new world order?...
wanna bet who will head this new world order?

Talk of Global Currency is becoming more manifest. At 2:24 minutes into this video clip the Zionist Congresswoman askes if these two Jews would support a one world monetary system.
Notice by Bernanke's body languate how he is obviously lying when he says that he would not support this one world currency.
The congresswoman is no better and this is all part of the game - but they are getting us prepared through gradualism for a one world currency and government.
Where is a bill to protect Christians from the mockery that Hollywood and the TV Networks constantly dish out?
WAKE UP - the senate is worried about passing a bill to protect less than two percent of the population from any form of criticism whatsoever - but does not care that this group of less than 2% continually mocks the God of over 80%!

BRAINTREE, Mass. (AP) — The Vatican's top liaison to Jews helped rededicate a menorah in memory of Holocaust victims Wednesday amid fallout from the Holy See's botched decision to the lift the excommunication of a Holocaust-denying bishop...
The heretics of the novus ordo church are as blind as protestants - the menorah was a prefigure of the seven sacraments that Christ would give us and today represents those seven sacraments - but these heretics somehow think that God instructed Moses to build the first menorah so that it would represent a religion (judaism) that hates, denies, and mocks Jesus Christ - the 2nd person of the Blessed Trinity.

Residue of allergy, cholesterol, other meds were in fish near 5 major cities
Fish caught near wastewater treatment plants serving five major U.S. cities had residues of pharmaceuticals in them, including medicines used to treat high cholesterol, allergies, high blood pressure, bipolar disorder and depression, researchers reported Wednesday.
Findings from this first nationwide study of human drugs in fish tissue have prompted the Environmental Protection Agency to significantly expand similar ongoing research to more than 150 different locations...
Not to mention the fact that the estrogen from birth control pills are causing male fish to develop ovaries! This is why I would never take "fish oil" supplements - not to mention the fact that the fat (oil) of fish is where all the mercury and other toxins that fish take in goes!
Such a declaration, "in these ecumenically less exciting times ... would be a remarkable step and a sign of hope and encouragement," Gassman said. These are oecumenical words dear to Benedict-Ratzinger's Modernist heart.

Approvedworkman - who most of you know of from a few of the silly comments of his that we have posted on this blog over the years - has his own blog - and this is a cut & paste of how he describes his blog:

Protestantism at its best...
By what authority does this heretic teach?
He readily admits that what he believes is HIS TEACHINGS - ie: - He is his own god! This is a profound truth of all false religions, but is especially manifest in protestantism.
Protestants have no authority outside of themselves - they interpret the meaning of Scripture how ever they see fit, they believe whatever they want to believe and reject whatever they want to reject.
If you ever hear myself or bridget refer to this blog or to our Faith as "our teachings" - flee from us as fast as you can!
btw - the last comment that approved tried to have us post ended with him saying to us: "may you rot in hell"
May God have mercy on these proud arrogant fools and give them the humility needed to come to the truth Faith.

Galatians 4: 22-31
"For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman and the other by a free woman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh: but he of the free woman was by promise. Which things are said by an allegory. For these are the two testaments.
The one from Mount Sina, engendering unto bondage, which is Agar. For Sina is a mountain in Arabia, which hath affinity to that Jerusalem which now is: and is in bondage with her children.
But that Jerusalem which is above is free: which is our mother. For it is written: Rejoice, thou barren, that bearest not: break forth and cry thou that travailest not: for many are the children of the desolate, more than of her that hath a husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
But as then he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was after the spirit: so also it is now. But what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.
So then, brethren, we are not the children of the bondwoman but of the free: by the freedom wherewith Christ has made us free."
This epistle shows quite clearly that the Jews are the spiritual descendants of Ismael and we - Catholics are the spiritual descendants of Isaac.

Rabbis in the Israeli army told battlefield troops in January's Gaza offensive that they were fighting a 'religious war' against gentiles, it has been revealed.
An army commander wrote of the shocking command in an Israeli newspaper today - one day after it emerged that Israeli soldiers were told they could kill innocent civilians during the war.
'Their message was very clear: we are the Jewish people, we came to this land by a miracle, God brought us back to this land and now we need to fight to expel the gentiles who are interfering with our conquest of this holy land,' the commander said...
But you see, the satanic Jewish media of the United States want you to believe it is the followers of Islam alone who are fighting a "holy war".
Wonders in amazement at the protestants who believe the lie that the so-called Jews today are the chosen of God.

Supporters of a Catholic lay worker fired this month by Madison Bishop Robert C. Morlino for allegedly advocating views contrary to Catholic teaching - a charge she denies - are lobbying to get her job back.
Morlino has agreed to meet in April with parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Beloit, where Ruth Kolpack has worked 26 years, the last 10 as a pastoral associate, to discuss her dismissal.
Spokesmen for the diocese have declined to comment on the allegations, but one said Friday that lay workers responsible for teaching the faith cannot stray from established church doctrine.
Kolpack insists she upholds Catholic teachings in her work as a pastoral associate but may hold some views contrary to the church as a matter of personal conscience.
"It's a question of private conversations vs. my professional role in the parish, and they have to be kept separate," said Kolpack, who holds a master of divinity degree from Saint Francis de Sales Seminary in St. Francis. "You need to teach the teachings of the church. But you can have your own opinions. I can separate the two."
Morlino has been mentioned as a possible successor to Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan, who becomes archbishop of New York in April.
As a pastoral associate, Kolpack served as the parish administrator and religious educator; she visited the sick and shut-ins and performed many of the functions of a priest, except celebrating the sacraments.
Supporters called her a devout Catholic and compassionate and conscientious teacher of the faith.
"This is very sad. There's something wrong with the process when a woman whose track record as a lay minister has been extraordinary," said Father Andrew Nelson, retired rector of Saint Francis de Sales seminary when Kolpack studied there.
"This might be a sign of a certain antagonism toward lay women in ministry in the church, and I feel so bad about that," he said.
Kolpack was fired March 12 after a brief meeting with Morlino in which she says she was told she'd have to renounce her master's thesis on noninclusive language in the Catholic Mass or lose her job.
But her troubles began in January, she said, when allegations were made that she, among other things, encouraged non-Catholics to take communion in Catholic churches, believes in women's ordination and believes she can consecrate the Eucharist, a role reserved for ordained clergy.
Kolpack denied the allegations and said they might stem from hypothetical situations she presented in discussions with a Catholic student group at Beloit College or in a private conversation with students afterward.
William Yallaly, an assistant to Morlino, said he did not know the allegations, but debating theology isn't the role of catechism teachers.
"There is definitely a place for considering issues in theological debates," he said. "But the job of a catechist is to teach those truths and not to get into theological debate."
Supporters have rallied around Kolpack, staging rallies last weekend and circulating petitions to reinstate her.
Yallaly said he didn't know whether that was a possibility and reiterated Morlino's comment to Kolpack's supporters last weekend: "You never say never, but it would be wrong of me to raise hopes in that regard."

In today's Gospel we read how Our Lord multiplied five barley loaves to feed five thousand and there remained twelve baskets of fragments left over after all had eaten.
There is no doubt about the effect this had upon the multitude. They all saw this and were ready to make Jesus their King. But, this was not to be, because the Gospel tells us that He fled again into the mountain Himself alone.
This undeniable miracle was just the beginning of Christ's instructions for the wonderful miracle that He would leave with men for the rest of time. Jesus is gradually preparing the people to see and accept the miraculous wonder of the Holy Eucharist.
Just as the barley loaves fed so many and were not decreased in quantity by this, but were on the contrary increased, so it is with Our Lord in the Blessed Eucharist. In the Gospel narrative Jesus gave the people bread for their bodies, but in the Holy Eucharist He gives us not bread but Himself to feed our souls.
Those who receive bread feed their bodies for a short while but then soon again become hungry, and are constantly in need of renourishing their bodies. The bread is consumed and transformed into their bodies. For those who receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist they feed their souls with a food that leaves an eternal imprint upon them. They nourish their souls for eternity with the Eternal Bread from Heaven. Instead of them transforming the Holy Eucharist into themselves, the Holy Eucharist is transforming them into Him. This Eternal Bread from Heaven makes us like unto Jesus.
And through this process Jesus is not lessened but increases as the bread was increased even though so many had eaten from it. The very life of Christ now not only lives in Him and in the Holy Eucharist, but now lives in all those who have worthily received Him in the Sacred Species.
There is a beautiful example given in the "Dialogues of St. Catherine of Siena". God explains that the Holy Eucharist is as a fire. Fire is always complete, it has light, heat, and color. The Holy Eucharist is always complete. It has the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Just as many can come and receive fire from one flame, and each take away true and complete fire (light, heat, and color) so many can come and receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and each take away true and completely Jesus Christ Himself.
And just as the original fire is not diminished by giving of itself to others, so Jesus Christ is not diminished by giving Himself to all who will receive Him.
Our Lord further develops the metaphor: "Suppose that there are many who bring their candles, one weighing an ounce, others two or six ounces, or a pound, or even more, and light them in the flame, in each candle, whether large or small, is the whole light, that is to say, the heat, the color, and the flame, nevertheless you would judge that he whose candle weighs an ounce has less of the light than he whose candle weighs a pound. Now the same thing happens to those who receive this Sacrament. Each one carries his own candle, that is the holy desire, with which he receives this Sacrament, which of itself is without light, and lights it by receiving this Sacrament. I say without light, because of yourselves you can do nothing, though I have given you the material, with which you can receive this light and feed it. The material is love, for through love I created you, and without love you cannot live."
The Eucharist is divided, but yet Jesus remains One. He is the Light that we are to carry with us. And the more who carry this light away the more of this light there is to give. Christ is the light of the world and we receive and carry Him with us when we receive this Light in the Holy Eucharist. We become a light to the world. And by sharing and giving this light freely and generously we lose nothing because this in no way diminishes the light that we have, on the contrary it increases the light, for now there are even more who are carrying and spreading this light. Thus, have we all been called to be lights unto the world. As the world is once again covered in darkness, it is ever more pressing for us to do our job to bring this Light to the world.

A group of Protestant Christians in the Netherlands is objecting to the emblem of the European Union being placed on car registration plates in their country, saying that the symbol conflicts with their religious convictions - writes Andreas Havinga.
The National Foundation for the Preservation of the Political Reformed Principles states that the EU emblem - a circle of 12 golden stars on a blue background - symbolises the veneration of Mary, the mother of Jesus, by the Roman Catholic Church.
"Most people don't think about it, but the EU symbol was thought up by a Roman Catholic in honour of Mary," P. H. op 't Hof, chairperson of the Reformed foundation, was quoted recently by the Nederlands Dagblad newspaper as saying. The newspaper reported that a court in the town of Leeuwarden had acknowledged that the issue concerns a matter of conscience.
This emboldened the Protestant group to repeat earlier requests to transport minister Camiel Eurlings, asking that the EU symbol be removed from the licence plates that have been in force since 2000.
The government minister responded, however, by saying that he saw no reason to do so since it is European Union policy to have licence plates with the symbol.
The emblem and flag were first used by another European body, the Council of Europe, before being adopted by the EU in 1985. Some observers say that the symbol bears a striking similarity to the 12-star halo of the Virgin Mary often seen in Catholic art.
In 1989, the Vatican newspaper l'Osservatore Romano, reported the emblem's designer, Arsène Heitz, had described the source of his inspiration as a series of reported apparitions by the Virgin Mary in 19th-century Paris. The date on which the Council of Europe adopted the flag, 8 December 1955, coincided with the Catholic Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Still, a Dutch member of the European Parliament, Toine Manders, has rejected as "outrageous" the statements by the Protestant group. "These 12 stars were already around in the period of Greek mythology, in other words long before Christianity,'' Manders stated on his website.
The Reformed foundation is a group of members of the Political Reformed Party (SGP), who judge the SGP to be insufficiently Calvinist. Founded in 1918, the SGP is the oldest political party in the Netherlands, and is known for its refusal to take part in any government Cabinet.
The Reformed foundation declared its was "disappointed" by the answer from the transport ministry.
Its chairperson, Op 't Hof, however, has come up with a provisional solution to the problem. The group sells adhesive stickers with the Dutch lion symbol to cover the EU emblem. Officially this is not allowed, but Op 't Hof says he has never encountered any problems.

Ahead of Pope Benedict XVI's May visit to Israel, the rabbi of the Western Wall, Shmuel Rabinovitch, has said that it is not proper to come to the site wearing a cross.
The pope wears a cross in all public appearances and is slated to visit the Western Wall on May 12 after a meeting with Muslim religious leaders at the Dome of the Rock.
After the visit, which will include a meeting with Rabinovitch, the pope is slated to meet with Israel's two chief rabbis, Yona Metzger and Shlomo Amar.
"My position is that it is not fitting to enter the Western Wall area with religious symbols, including a cross," said Rabinovitch in a telephone interview with The Jerusalem Post Monday. "I feel the same way about a Jew putting on a tallit and phylacteries and going into a church."
Rabinovitch is responsible for religious decorum at the site...
Be interesting to remember this and check out the photos of this anti-pope satanist when he visits the "Western Wall" and see if he is wearing the cross that he "wears at all public appearances".
We all know who this creep takes his orders from and it is not Christ - so we can almost bet he will not be wearing a cross!
We know of sultans who have odalisques performing dances to distract them. We know of pagan kings like Herod who used to enjoy seeing ballerinas perform for them. We don't know of one saintly Catholic King, however, who ever had this entertainment. As for a Pope, it was inconceivable that any would indulge in such practices.
1 By executive order, President Obama reversed the Mexico City Policy. When in force, it prohibited your tax dollars from funding international organizations that promote or perform abortion.
The International Planned Parenthood Federation wasted little time in putting this money to use promoting their abortion agenda in Poland by advocating a series of Women’s Day marches that made several demands, including unrestricted abortion-on-demand. Further, IPPF is also opposing a Polish law being put together by a bioethics committee in Poland aimed at protecting human embryos from being killed during in vitro fertilization procedures.
2 The President’s appointments have been universally pro-abortion, including critical selections that could dramatically affect unborn babies. These include Secretary of Health and Human Services. His selection is Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius who holds extreme pro-abortion positions. You can read a detailed account of Governor Sebelius’ record on abortion assembled by Kansans for Life at: http://www.kfl.org/read.asp?docid=1033
3 An additional key appointment is Margaret Hamburg as the Director of the Food and Drug Administration. Not only is she strongly pro-abortion, she has been an opponent of abstinence education.
4 By executive order, President Obama rescinded restrictions on using our tax dollars to fund embryonic stem cell research which kills human embryos. It also allows the biotech industry to create human embryos for the sole purpose of killing them in the name of research. Further, his executive order provides the necessary platform or foundation to pursue cloning, which can’t be done without embryonic stem cells.
5 A second, less-known impact of this executive order rescinded President Bush’s direction to fund alternative forms of research and treatment that do not include killing human embryos. So not only did Mr. Obama open the floodgates for your tax dollars to pursue embryonic stem cell research, he’s impeding future research on adult stem cells which has already proven to be hugely successful in treating patients.
6 President Obama has created the new International Office on Women’s Issues. Those familiar with the aggressive pro-abortion agenda of international women’s groups know this can’t be good news. It will be headed by Melanne Verveer, the chief of staff to former First Lady Hillary Clinton. In short, it will be used to intimidate, pressure or force other countries into legalizing unrestricted abortion. Here’s a link to more details:http://www.lifeissues.org/breakingnews/2009/Ambassador_for_women.htm
7 As the number of abortionists dwindles, the abortion industry is looking for ways to increase access to abortion. Physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals and hospitals are growing increasingly concerned that they may be forced to participate in providing abortion. Before leaving office, President Bush put conscience rules in place to protect these health care professionals and facilities from retaliation should they chose not to participate in the killing of unborn babies.
President Obama has already put into motion efforts to rescind these rules and once again make those who are trained to protect and heal, vulnerable to being forced to kill innocent human life.
After reading this it’s hard to believe that Mr. Obama has only been in office 7 weeks. I shudder to think of what he’s capable of accomplishing in 4 years. Please share this information with others.http://www.lifeissues.org/

"The last state of that man becomes worse than the first."
The relapse of the sinner is a very terrible and frightening situation, for those who still have the faith and clearness of sight to see it. The relapsed sinner has blinded himself and he can no longer see or fear his desperate situation. He often feels at ease or comfortable in his sins. Thus he is worse off than when he first sinned and felt the stings of his conscience. Not one devil occupies his soul now, but eight (The original and then seven others worse than the original.)
Such souls have had the demon chased out of them but they failed to continue in the path of virtue. Their devil returned and found them "swept and garnished". Their souls were devoid of the thought of God; all that is holy and good was swept out of their souls. And their souls were garnished with the vanity of the world and their own self-love. This emptiness occurs because of their carelessness and irresolution to avoid the occasions of sin. It occurs because they were not watching and praying and because they were not mortifying themselves and making their souls a worthy dwelling for God.
St. Bernard says: "The frequent repetition of sin begets the habit; the habit, the necessity; the necessity, the impossibility; the impossibility, despair; and despair, damnation." This is the simple cycle of the relapsed sinner and can only be broken with the aid of God, prayer, and sincere: repentance, contrition, and penance.
St. Augustine says: "Sins even great and horrible, as soon as they have become a habit, are looked upon as little or no sins at all, this is carried so far that it seems to some unnecessary to conceal them any more; they boast of them and make them notorious." Do we not likewise see immorality proudly and boastingly presented before us today? How many glory in their shame? How many boast of the evil that they commit as if they had done well? How many even exaggerate and boast of evil that they have not committed? They are under the illusion that they will be esteemed or thought better of the more evil that they are perceived to have committed. Does this not sound like one who has not only one devil but many?
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Prov. 1, 7) And today are there any who fear God? The majority ignore Him altogether. Those that profess to believe in Him often prefer to think of Him as of no consequence. They wish to live with the lie that God does not care or that He will not judge them damnable for their vices.
"A young man, according to his way, even when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Prov. 22: 6) Our children today are earlier and earlier accustomed to the evils of our modern society, especially those of Sodom and Gomorrah. They are presented with so many "alternative" lifestyles (non nuclear [traditional] families, i.e. two mommies or two daddies.) and told that they are acceptable and good. Some even go so far as to claim this is God's will and plan!
The Sodomites, in consequence of their prolonged wickedness, were so blinded that they believed themselves more just than Lot and rejected his warning with angry words. (Gen 19: 9.) St. Augustine, writing on this passage, says: "So far had it gone with the habit of this abominable vice that the Sodomites considered it a virtue, and he who tried to prevent it was rebuked more than he who committed it." We witness this again today with the homosexual agenda that is being forced upon us in our "entertainment" industry and in the "education" of our school children. They are working diligently to gain a special status so that honest people will be labeled as criminals and guilty of hate crimes for the condemnation of their "life style". Lot was the lonely voice crying out in condemnation in his day, will there be any in our days?
Will we have the courage of Susana? She said: "I am straitened on every side, for if I do this thing, it is death to me, and if I do it not, I shall not escape your hands. But it is better for me to fall into your hands without doing it than to sin in the sight of the Lord." (Dan. 13: 22, 23)
There are relapsed sinners with eight or more devils in them all around us. They look "normal" and often act "normal" but they are dead to God's graces, and are treacherous advocates for the cause of the fallen angels _ our relapse and eternal damnation. We must always be cautious of our association with such people for they have not just the spirit of men but those of eight or more devils, and are very clever in their treacheries.
Let us do our best to not allow such people to get close enough to contaminate us or the ones that we love with the acceptance of their sins. Let us pray to God for the grace to persevere in His goodness. Let us devoutly receive the Sacraments frequently. And in this state we will be guarded against the return of the devil that has been originally cast from us and from the seven worse than him.

In a recent interview, Republican National Chairman Michael Steele told GQ magazine that he supports abortion rights. "I think that's an individual choice (to have an abortion)," he said.
GQ: Are you saying you think women have the right to choose abortion?
Steele: Yeah. I mean, again, I think that’s an individual choice.
GQ: You do?
Steele: Yeah. Absolutely.
Steele later issued a statement "clarifying” his comments regarding abortion saying he is “pro-life.”
Steele also disputed the view that being homosexual is a lifestyle choice. "I don't think I've ever really subscribed to that view that you can turn it on and off like a water tap. ...You just can't simply say, oh, like, 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being gay.' It's like saying 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being black,'" explained Steele.
Steele said an amendment to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman is a state issue and is “mucking around with the Constitution.”
So much for the Republicans being "conservative".
