Nightmare Mortgages

They promise the American Dream: A home of your own -- with ultra-low rates and payments anyone can afford. Now, the trap has sprung

For cash-strapped homeowners, it was a pitch they couldn't refuse: Refinance your mortgage at a bargain rate and cut your payments in half. New home buyers, stretching to afford something in a super-heated market, didn't even need to produce documentation, much less a downpayment. Those who took the bait are in for a nasty surprise. While many Americans have started to worry about falling home prices, borrowers who jumped into so-called option ARM loans have another, more urgent problem: payments that are about to skyrocket...

Some may wonder why i post these housing warnings on this blog.

I post these for two reasons.

1. As a warning to anyone who might be about to fall into these traps - or for those in them to be prepared for what is to come.

2. Because i believe that this is part of a master plan to destroy this nations sovereignty - a necessary compenent of the "new world order".

This unchecked usuary is allowed because money is in reality only paper - real wealth is in tangible property - soon - most of this property will be held by the very elite group of bankers who set people up to loose it the moment that they purchased it. They are making it on both ends. When the paper that we call money becomes worth very little due to inflation and falling wages - who will have the property?

I am probably not verbalizing my thoughts correctly - and i am not an economist - and i could certainly be dead wrong about this - but this is my gut feeling - so i shared it.

Oh Lord, that they may see!

Let Mary never be far from your lips or heart. And to obtain the fruit of her prayers, do not forget the example of her life. With her support, you will never fall. Beneath her protection, you will never fear. Under her guidance, you will never tire. And with her help, you will reach your heavenly goal.

A must read.

This coming from an Israeli newspaper - at least some of the Jews in Israel are starting to wake up - wouldn't it be wonderful if they would completely open their eyes and come to Christ?

Can you really not see?

By Amira Hass

Let us leave aside those Israelis whose ideology supports the dispossession of the Palestinian people because "God chose us." Leave aside the judges who whitewash every military policy of killing and destruction. Leave aside the military commanders who knowingly jail an entire nation in pens surrounded by walls, fortified observation towers, machine guns, barbed wire and blinding projectors. Leave aside the ministers. All of these are not counted among the collaborators. These are the architects, the planners, the designers, the executioners.

But there are others. Historians and mathematicians, senior editors, media stars, psychologists and family doctors, lawyers who do not support Gush Emunim and Kadima, teachers and educators, lovers of hiking trails and sing-alongs, high-tech wizards. Where are you? And what about you, researchers of Nazism, the Holocaust and Soviet gulags? Could you all be in favor of systematic discriminating laws? Laws stating that the Arabs of the Galilee will not even be compensated for the damages of the war by the same sums their Jewish neighbors are entitled to (Aryeh Dayan, Haaretz , August 21).

Could it be that you are all in favor of a racist Citizenship Law that forbids an Israeli Arab from living with his family in his own home? That you side with further expropriation of lands and the demolishing of additional orchards, for another settler neighborhood and another exclusively Jewish road? That you all back the shelling and missile fire killing the old and the young in the Gaza Strip?

Could it be that you all agree that a third of the West Bank (the Jordan Valley) should be off limits to Palestinians? That you all side with an Israeli policy that prevents tens of thousands of Palestinians who have obtained foreign citizenship from returning to their families in the occupied territories?

Could your mind really be so washed with the security excuse, used to forbid Gaza students from studying occupational therapy at Bethlehem and medicine at Abu Dis, and preventing sick people from Rafah from receiving medical treatment in Ramallah? Will also you find it easy to hide behind the explanation "we had no idea": we had no idea that the discrimination practiced in the distribution of water - which is solely controlled by Israel - leaves thousands of Palestinian households without water during the hot summer months; we had no idea that when the IDF blocks the entrance to villages, it also blocks their access to springs or water tanks.

But it cannot be that you don't see the iron gates along route 344 in the West Bank, blocking access to it from the Palestinian villages it passes by. It cannot be that you support preventing the access of thousands of farmers to their land and plantations, that you support the quarantine on Gaza which prevents the entry of medicine for hospitals, the disruption of electricity and water supply to 1.4 million human beings, closing their only outlet to the world for months.

Could it be that you do not know what is happening 15 minutes from your faculties and offices? Is it plausible that you support the system in which Hebrew soldiers, at checkpoints in the heart of the West Bank, are letting tens of thousands of people wait everyday for hours upon hours under the blazing sun, while selecting: residents of Nablus and Tul Karm are not allowed through, 35-year-olds and under - yallah, back to Jenin, residents of the Salem village are not even allowed to be here, a sick woman who skipped the line must learn a lesson and will be purposefully detained for hours. Machsom Watch's site is available for all; in it are countless such testimonies and worse, a day by day routine. But it cannot be that those who are appalled over every swastika painted on a Jewish grave in France and over every anti-Semitic headline in a Spanish local newspaper will not know how to reach this information, and will not be appalled and outraged.

As Jews we all enjoy the privilege Israel gives us, what makes us all collaborators. The question is what does every one of us do in an active and direct daily manner to minimize cooperation with a dispossessing, suppressing regime that never has its fill. Signing a petition and tutting will not do. Israel is a democracy for its Jews. We are not in danger of our lives, we will not be jailed in concentration camps, our livelihood will not be damaged and recreation in the countryside or abroad will not be denied to us. Therefore, the burden of collaboration and direct responsibility is immeasurably heavy.

Israeli forces launch strikes in Gaza

By IBRAHIM BARZAK, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 44 minutes ago

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli troops launched airstrikes on the outskirts of Gaza City and exchanged gunfire with Palestinian militants Wednesday, killing six people, officials said...

...Troops also flattened crops, destroyed greenhouses and chicken coops and uprooted dozens of trees on Wednesday, residents said. The army had no comment on the report about the destruction. In recent years, troops have routinely destroyed farming areas and orchards in the
Gaza Strip, citing the need to deprive gunmen and rocket squads of cover.

About 17,000 people have been without power and running water since the operation began, residents said...

I could not give a better commentary on this evilness than Michael Rivero did:

"The destruction of food has nothing to do with gunmen or cover: this is about a systematic starvation and destruction of the citizens of Gaza, and collective punishment, which Israel has raised to a fine, black art."

The Belly of a Turtle Holds a Marian "Apparition"
For Fanatics Who Are Relying More on "Apparitions, Private Revelations, and Visions"
Than Upon the True Mass, the Sacraments, Sacred Scripture, and Sacred Tradition
The latest Marian "apparition" (it just goes on and on, doesn't it. folks?) is on the underbelly of a turtle! That's where some demented woman from Burbank claims to have found the "Blessed Mother." But maybe she's not so demented after all. The woman who claimed that her grilled-cheese sandwich sported an "apparition" sold the sandwich on eBay for $28,000! [Metrowest Daily News

As St. John of the Cross (1542-1591), the Church's greatest mystic, commented about such mass hysteria (or crass commercialism):

The desire for private revelations deprives faith of its purity, develops a dangerous curiosity that becomes a source of illusions, fills the mind with vain fancies, and often proves the want of humility, and of submission to Our Lord, Who, through His public revelation, has given all that is needed for salvation. We must suspect those apparitions that lack dignity or proper reserve, and above all, those that are ridiculous. This last characteristic is a mark of human or diabolical machination. STAY AWAY FROM VISIONS, APPARITIONS, AND MIRACLES AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. BE CAREFUL OF VISIONS, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE AUTHENTIC.

No one can deny that Newchurch is in desperate need of divine mercy, having abandoned the Roman Catholic Mass, Sacraments, Faith, and morals for an Oecumenical One-world Religion. But to establish a Novus Ordo cult that is more bogus than the Da Vinci Code or the "Gospel" of Judas is certainly not the way to obtain divine mercy for itself! Since the Novus Ordo will celebrate "Divine Mercy" Sunday today, the Octave Day of Easter, it would be good to review how this Novus Ordo cult came into being.

A local devotion under this title, which is associated with one Sr. Faustina and a chaplet of the Divine Mercy, was approved by the Ordinary of Vilnius, Poland, in 1936 and from there spread rapidly, especially after World War II in the United States. It appears that Sr. Faustina could not write, except for a few lines phonetically. Most of her "diary" was concocted by her sisters after her death. Because of the incongruities of the dairy (different handwriting, different use of terms), the devotion was suppressed, and the book of her diary was placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum [Index of Forbidden Books]. This decision was upheld by Pope John XXIII in 1958/59.

In early 1978, a Polish cardinal petitioned the Vatican to remove the suppression of the devotion, which was being practiced without sanction in his diocese, and the Vatican replied in the negative, confirming the suppression. By this time the original devotion had been replaced by an oecumenized version framed in Novus Ordo terminology -- with substantially changed prayers to promote non-Catholic beliefs and the heresy of universal salvation. Later in 1978 a Polish pope was elected, and the now modernized version, twice condemned by popes, was now entered onto the Novus Ordo liturgical calendar on the high feast of the Octave of Easter.

The Octave Day of a feast, particularly of the greatest feast, Easter, is a significant day in itself. The "Divine Mercy" cult is thus in contravention of the focus of the Catholic liturgy for that day, which is on the Resurrection of Our Lord and faith in His Divinity. As Dom Gueranger, the noted Benedictine liturgical scholar, commented in his fifteen-volume Liturgical Year: "Such is the solemnity of this Sunday that not only is it of greater double rite, but no feast, however great, can ever be kept upon it." That is the Roman Catholic attitude, which the New Order spurned.

Not surprisingly, the cult in Conciliar times is increasing in its association with another cult, that is, the cult of "Catholic" Charismaticism. This Charismatic Movement is far from true Catholicism, but is a derivative of the Protestant heresy, based on the erroneous notion that emotional experience always accompanies the conferral of grace, whereas the Catholic doctrine is that the only sensible indication of the conferral of grace is the Sacrament itself. Perhaps the cult's association with New Age ideas is why it has become lionized in recent years, whereas popes up to JPII have condemned it.

Is it any wonder that the New Order pushes this corrupted devotion over the traditional devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus? The devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a much more ancient devotion, having grown in the early Middle Ages through the efforts of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, a Doctor of the Church, and St. Gertrude. However, it was in the latter half of the seventeenth century that news of three private revelations to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque concerning the Sacred Heart swept the Catholic world and shortly led to the establishment of a feast on the Friday after the Octave of Corpus Christi (the Friday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost).

The Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was extended to the Universal Church by Pope Pius IX in 1856, became a feast of atonement for human ingratitude toward God in spite of the supreme sacrifice of Calvary. The theme for the new Mass and the Divine Office was taken from the words of Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary: "Behold the Heart which has loved men so greatly, but which has been given so little love in return."

Devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus has been richly indulgenced by the Church, and a Litany of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of only five approved for public recitation. Given the apparent New Order's corruption of the original devotion to divine mercy and the pushing of this Charismatic novelty condemned by two popes, traditional Catholics will continue to stand with the more ancient and universally-approved devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and reject this New Order novelty.
Big surprize here, thanks to the "evangelicals" and the idea of private interpretation of Scripture.

42% of Americans Believe G-d Gave Israel to Jews

15:34 Aug 30, '06 / 6 Elul 5766

( According to a poll commissioned by the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan research organization, 42% of Americans believe that the modern state of Israel is a gift to the Jewish people by G-d. The Pew organization reports that this statistic, collected in July 2006, is unchanged since 2003.

In the southern United States, 56% believe that Israel was given to the Jewish people by G-d. 69% of White evangelical Protestants hold that belief, along with majorities of Black Protestants, as well. The July survey also shows that many more Americans say they sympathize more with Israel (44%) than with the Palestinian Authority (9%). A subsequent Pew survey, conducted Aug. 9-13, found even broader support for Israel; 52% said they sympathized more with Israel, compared with 11% who sympathized more with the Palestinians.

Results for this survey are based on telephone interviews conducted under the direction of Schulman, Ronca, & Bucuvalas, Inc. among a nationwide sample of 2,003 adults, 18 years of age or older, from July 6-19, 2006.

sure - why wouldn't "G-d" (what a joke) give them a gift - after all they only deny and hate Him! It shouldn't matter that their high holy book - the Talmud says that our Lord and Savior is the bastard son of a whore who fornicated with a Roman Guard and is now in hell - why wouldn't "G-d" reward them with land.

It shouldn't matter that they have tried to destroy His Church from the moment it began. It shouldn't matter that they broke the Old Covenant and made it void before Jesus was even incarnate.

The real GOD (note the "o") will one day expose these liars who push for the support of this evil and immoral Christ hating nation!

Pope to debate evolution with former students

By Tom Heneghan, Religion Editor 46 minutes ago
PARIS (Reuters) -

Pope Benedict, who taught theology at four German universities before rising in the Catholic Church hierarchy, has pondered weighty ideas with his former Ph.D students at annual meetings since the late 1970s without any media fuss...

...But Father Stephan Horn, a German theologian organizing the pope's meeting with 39 former students, said that reflected a misunderstanding of how the so-called "student circle" works and what the Catholic Church teaches about evolution.

"We've never drawn any conclusions in our student circle," he told Reuters by telephone from Rome. "This is an open exchange of ideas that does not aim for a conclusion. (does anyone really believe such nonsense - "it does not aim for a conclusion" - then what is the bloody point? - this is simply a modernist heretical think tank)

"It has nothing to do with creationism," he added, referring to a fundamentalist Protestant view that God created the world in six days as described in the Book of Genesis. "Catholic theology does not endorse creationist views."...

...Catholic teaching accepts evolution as a scientific theory and does not read the Biblical story of creation literally.

doesn't it must make you sick when they use the word "Catholic" with these lies!

Something to think about...

eBay prohibits textbooks
for homeschool teachers
Lumps them with illegal drugs, bootleg recordings,
prompting avalanche of complaints from customers

A new policy by Internet trading behemoth eBay that bans homeschool teachers' texts from its auctions is prompting a tirade of complaints from the company's faithful customers.

"Really the homeschooling community is a huge participant in eBay when you get to thinking about it," said one customer who was identified as ''angels*wings'' on an eBay blog. "We buy textbooks naturally but we also purchase items like microscopes, slides, globes, maps, manipulatives, educational games, reading books, supplies for our classrooms ? stickers, idea books, folders, sheet protectors, school supplies, software, educational movies, models, post cards ? the list is enormous."

The policy, which is inclusive of all teachers' texts, was made known recently as those who were auctioning various books watched as their postings were deleted.

Another homeschooler on the blog said she questioned eBay when her listings were cancelled.

"They told me that it fell under their heading of 'illegal, dangerous, offensive, or potentially infringing,'" she said. "What are they thinking? I have a mess of curriculum here that I can't sell, and needing money from it to buy curriculum for the new school year."

The response from the company was posted for others to see.

"As you may know, eBay does not permit items that are illegal, dangerous, offensive, or potentially infringing. Additionally, eBay has just recently made the decision to prohibit the sale of Teacher's Editions of textbooks and solutions manuals that are intended solely for use by teachers. Since eBay strives to be a level-playing field, all Teacher's Edition textbooks, manuals and guides will be covered under this policy. Unfortunately, home schooling Teacher's Editions are not exempt from this policy and this policy will apply to all grade levels."

The company continued that those products often contain "special answer keys, exams, teaching tips, and guides."

And, it noted, "multiple organizations and publishers have voiced their concern to us over such books that may only be purchased through educational institutions by teachers."

"Where do they get off telling me that I don't have the right to buy, sell, or own a teacher's manual??? How could I teach my children without it???" another blogger asked.

Still another reported having a few 2006 teachers' edition textbooks for college classes pulled from the site.

"Now I'm stuck with them," the writer said.

"We are a major buying and selling force on eBay & once I got to thinking of all the things we purchase just for ourselves and our school it's amazing," said Angelwings. "I'm in the same boat as many of you?.I've got three grade levels of books here I need to sell in order to purchase our supplies for next year."

WorldNetDaily did not get an immediate response from eBay about the situation. The website accepts e-mail questions but responds in 24-48 hours.

Its website explanation is straightforward.

"Teacher's editions of textbooks and solutions manuals that are intended solely for use by teachers are not permitted by eBay."

And it notifies users that "listing cancellation, forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings, limits on account privileges, account suspension" are all possible results.

"As a homeschooler I believe this directly discriminates against me since I have used Ebay numerous times to both buy and sell homeschool curricula. As a budget conscious homeschooling mother I like to buy used materials as often as possible. This means buying the teacher's materials used on Ebay and purchasing new workbooks directly from the publisher or distributor," Dana wrote.

eBay did offer a recourse for further concerns:

"We appreciate the fact that you may disagree with eBay's decision to establish this policy. If you would like to see these policies change, or have suggestions on how to make the site better, you may want to submit your feelings by completing the form at the following URL."

eBay's overview of prohibited items includes animals, artifacts, autographed items, academic software, bootleg recordings, credit cards, drugs and paraphernalia, government IDs, lockpicking devices, human remains, police-related items, used clothing and used cosmetics, among others.

One blogger noted that public school interests have been opposing homeschooling more and more, as homeschooling has grown substantially in recent years. Recent estimates have put homeschool attendance in the U.S. at more than 2.5 million. And the same comment noted book publishers also dislike having the products re-sold.

A public school teacher defended the policy, saying she cannot get a teacher's edition from a publisher unless she provides proof of her teaching employment. "It is quite costly for publishers to research and develop curricula and it is copyrighted."

But there also are other auctions that do allow the sale of homeschool texts. One location, which does require purchasers to be 18, is Another one is and observers said there are many more available through an Internet search.

The Home School Legal Defense Association said it was aware of the situation.

"We have received many complaints about the eBay policy and we are actively working on a solution," Media Relations Director Ian Slatter told WND. That group is the largest organization of homeschoolers in the United States, with more than 80,000 member families.

St. John the Baptist was called by God to be the forerunner of His divine Son. In order to preserve his innocence spotless, and to improve the extraordinary graces which he had received, he was directed by the Holy Ghost to lead an austere and contemplative life in the wilderness, in the continual exercises of devout prayer and penance, from his infancy til he was thirty years of age.
At this age the faithful minister began to discharge his mission. Clothed with the weeds of penance, he announced to all men the obligation they lay under of washing away their iniquities with the tears of sincere compunction; and proclaimed the Messias, Who was then coming to make His appearance among them. He was received by the people as the true herald of the Most High God, and his voice was, as it were, a trumpet sounding from heaven to summon all men to avert the divine judgments, and to prepare themselves to reap the benefit of the mercy that was offered them.
The tetrarch Herod Antipas having, in defiance of all laws divine and human, married Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, who was yet living. St. John the Baptist boldly reprehended the tetrarch and his accomplice for so scandalous an incest and adultery, and Herod, urged on by lust and anger, cast the Saint into prison.
Herod gave a splendid entertainment to the nobility of Galilee. Salome, a daughter of Herodias by her lawful husband, pleased Herod by her dancing, insomuch that he promised her to grant whatever she asked. On this, Salome consulted with her mother what to ask. Herodias instructed her daughter to demand the death of John and persuaded the young damsel to make it part of her petition that the head of the prisoner should be brought to her in a dish. This strange request startled the tyrant himself; he assented, however, and sent a soldier of his guard to behead the Saint in prison, with an order to bring his head in a charger and present it to Salome, who delivered it to her mother.
St. Jerome relates that the furious Herdias made it her inhuman pastime to prick the sacred tongue with a bodkin.
Thus died the forerunner of our blessed Saviour, about two years and three months after his entrance upon his public ministry, about a year before the death of our blessed Redeemer.

Let us as true Roman Catholics emulate St. John the Baptist and BOLDLY proclaim the truth!St. John the Baptist, pray for us

Here's a quick quote:Pope Gregory XVI: “But later even more care was required when the Lutherans and Calvinists dared to oppose the changeless doctrine of the faith with an almost incredible variety of errors. They left no means untried to deceive the faithful with perverse explanations of the sacred books…” (Inter Paecipuas #4, May 8, 1844)
Can we know we are saved - or - can we loose salvation?

This post is a response to an ongoing conversation with Leigh that was moved up front to keep it at the forefront.

you posted several bible verses that at first glance would appear to make it possible that we can know for certain that we are saved and cannot be damned.

You also quoted the Catechism of the Catholic Church - to which i must inform you that we believe this to be a heretical document filled with anti-catholic teaching - but the quote that you gave i do not necessarily disagree with.

That being said - lets get to these bible quotes.

Every one of these quotes states that it is necessary to believe. What type of belief is necessary - simply believing that Jesus is God? Surley not - for in the Epistle of James we find:

James 2:19:
"Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble."

So this belief is much more than just believing in God - after all - Satan believes in God and knows that Jesus is God.

So this belief that is necessary for salvation is much more than a simple belief in God.

We also know that Jesus said to be saved we must believe and be baptized.

We also know that Jesus said to be saved we must obey the commandments.

So clearly this belief means we must believe all that Jesus taught and teaches through His Church.

Remember Jesus also said:

Matthew 7: 21-23:
"Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity."

Obviously those who say to Jesus: "Lord, Lord" believe in Him - but this belief is not enough - for they do not hold the true Faith and believe all that He taught.

This passage clearly shows that there will be a great many who will think that they are saved - BUT ARE NOT!

Your quote from Phillipians is true - St. Paul knows that if he dies in Christ Jesus he will be saved. But St. Paul also knows that if he loses his faith he will be damned - and that is why he shastized his body into subjection.

1 Corinthians 9:27:
"But I chastise my body and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway."

This passage would make no sense if St. Paul believed it impossible for him to be damned.

Regarding your quote from Titus - this is clear - "Unto the HOPE of life everlasting..."

Regarding your quote from John - we must first know what it means to be "born-again" - and Jesus explains it quite clearly when Nicodemus did not understand him - saying:

John 3:5:
"Jesus answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. "

This clearly shows that to be born again is to be baptized (water and the Holy Ghost).

Besides - this does not say that everyone who is baptized or born again will be saved - it simply says that to be saved - you must be born again.

regarding your quote about being heirs to an estate - ah -a will can be changed at any time - many times a parent will cut a child out of a will - because the child abandoned the parent.

The other quotes like the one from Peter - is true - there is reserved for those who make it to heaven these things. We can most assuredly now that the blessed in heaven will receive these things.

I have to get going now - but i can also give you several examples from Scripture of people that were believers and abandoned the faith and were lost - not the least of which is Judas.

It is spiritual pride of the highest order to believe that one cannot be damned. Remember - God resists the proud.

What a clever trick of satan - to get people to believe that they cannot be damned. I would almost venture to say that anyone who thinks they cannot go hell is almost certainly on a path straight to hell!
A warning to Catholics about the "Divine Mercy" Devotion.

Many years ago when i was still in the Novus Ordo bogus church - i read a Diary called: "Divine Mercy" - by Sr. Faustina.

As i read the book i had a really bad feeling about it and believed that there were many things in it that were heretical. I finished the book and was convinced that it was evil.

I was still in the infant stage of becoming a true Catholic, so i could not say specifically that this or that was heretical - and, after all - this book is in perfect alignment with novus ordo heresy.

I even got into a debate with a member of our Parish a few years ago about it! I plan on giving her a copy of what is posted below along with our Parish Priest so that he can look into this.

The following is from Most Holy Family Monastery. While i certainly know that the "brothers" as Most Holy Family Monastery hold the feeneyite heresy - their observations about this have nothing to do with that - and it is hard to argue with their logic and the quotes that they give. What i found most interesting is that this book was on the index of forbidden books in the 1950's. Anyhow... here it is cut and pasted from their website:

Sister Faustina’s Divine Mercy Devotion is something to avoid

Over the years I had heard different opinions about the Divine Mercy Devotion and didn’t know exactly what to think about it. One thing that did concern me was that it seemed to be popular among the Charismatic “Catholics” and seemed to be used as a substitute for the Rosary. Some time ago I decided to quickly flip through the more than 600-page book Divine Mercy in my Soul Diary by Sister Faustina. Below are just a few strange things that I found that are enough to convince me that this “devotion” is something to be avoided.

On page 23 of the book Divine Mercy in My Soul (The Diary of Sr. Faustina), it says: “… and the host came out of the tabernacle and came to rest in my hands and I, with joy, placed it back in the tabernacle. This was repeated a second time, and I did the same thing. Despite this, it happened a third time…” (Marian Press, Stockbridge, MA, 1987)

On page 89 of the book Divine Mercy in My Soul, it says: “When the priest approached me again, I raised the host for him to put back into the chalice, because when I had first received Jesus I could not speak before consuming the host, and so could not tell him that the other host had fallen. But while I was holding the host in my hand, I felt such a power of love that for the rest of the day I could neither eat nor come to my senses. I heard these words from the host: I desired to rest in your hands, not only in your heart.”

On page 168, it says: “The moment I knelt down to cross out my own will, as the Lord had bid me to do, I heard this voice in my soul: From now on, do not fear God’s judgment, for you will not be judged.” (from Feb. 4, 1935)

On page 176, “Jesus” says to her: “You are a sweet grape and a chosen cluster; I want others to have a share in the juice that is flowing within you.”

On page 191, “Jesus” says to her: “For your sake I will withhold the hand which punishes; for your sake I will bless the Earth.” (see also page 378.)

On page 247, “Jesus” says: “And know this, too, my daughter: All creatures, whether they know it or not, and whether they want to or not, always fulfill my will… My daughter, if you wish, I will this instant create a new world, more beautiful than this one, and you will live there for the rest of your life.”

On page 260, “Jesus” says: “For many souls will turn back from the gates of Hell and worship My mercy.”

On page 374, “Jesus” says: “If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity.”

On page 382, “Jesus” says: “I desire that My mercy be worshipped.”

On page 288, “Jesus” says: “That is why I am uniting myself with you so intimately as with no other creature.”

On page 400, “Jesus” says: “I see your love so pure, purer than that of the angels, and all the more so because you keep fighting. For your sake I bless the world.”

On page 417, we read that “Jesus” supposedly gave Sr. Faustina this instruction: “Tell the Superior General to count on you as the most faithful daughter in the Order.”

On page 583, we read that Sr. Faustina said: “When I took the Messenger of the Sacred Heart into my hand and read the account of the canonization of St. Andrew Bobola, my soul was instantly filled with a great longing that our congregation, too, might have a saint and I wept like a child that there was no saint in our midst. And I said to the Lord, ‘I know your generosity, and yet it seems to me that you are less generous towards us.’ And I began again to weep like a little child. And the Lord Jesus said to me, ‘Don’t cry. You are that saint.’”

On page 602, we read that “Jesus” supposedly said: “I cannot stand them, because they are neither good nor bad.”

On page 612, we read that “Jesus” supposedly said: “I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming.”

On page 643, we read that Sr. Faustina said after receiving Communion: “Jesus transform me into another host!…. You are a great and all-powerful Lord; you can grant me this favor. And the Lord answered me, ‘You are a living host.’”

On page 208 we learn that “Jesus” supposedly told Sr. Faustina about the new Divine Mercy Devotion and supposedly instructed her that it is to be said on the beads of the Rosary: “This prayer [the Divine Mercy Devotion] will serve to appease my wrath. You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the Rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one Our Father and Hail Mary and the I Believe in God. Then on the Our Father beads you will say the following words: ‘Eternal Father I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary beads you will say the following words: ‘For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world.’ In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: ‘Holy God, holy mighty one, holy immortal one, have mercy on us and on the whole world.’” (Saturday, Sept. 14, 1935)

The above statements present a number of problems. The first problem is the promotion of Communion in the hand, which is supposedly endorsed by Our Lord. The Host flies into her hand numerous times, and Our Lord supposedly says that He desires to rest in her hands. I believe this is a diabolical snare to get Communion in the hand accepted in advance of the Vatican II religion.

Second, we see unnecessary praise heaped upon this sister. We see things said to her supposedly by Our Lord that wouldn’t foster humility, but vanity – that she is basically the greatest thing in the world. I don’t believe Our Lord would ever instruct her to tell her superior that she is the most faithful daughter in the Order. Our Lord could have told the superior such a thing if he wanted it known.

Third, we see that Sr. Faustina is told that God’s spark – which will prepare the world for His Second Coming – comes out of Poland! This has been interpreted to mean that God’s chosen person is John Paul II, who was from Poland! Since we know that John Paul II was an apostate, non-Catholic antipope, who literally preached the doctrine of antichrist in the Vatican while endorsing the false religions of the world, this shows us again that Sr. Faustina’s revelations were from the Devil. In fact, it shows us how much the Devil wanted to prop up support for John Paul II.

Fourth, the Divine Mercy Devotion is centered around mercy at a time when mankind was coming closer and closer to having filled up the cup of divine justice. The problem at that time, and today, of course, was that men didn’t fear God and continued to offend Him. They needed to hear about His justice. But the Divine Mercy devotion was the perfect false devotion to make people believe that they will receive God’s mercy even if they stay in their sins – instructing people to even “worship” His mercy.

Fifth, and perhaps most importantly, would God reveal a new devotion to be said on the beads of the Rosary shortly after His Mother came to Fatima to work a profound miracle to reveal, among other things, the necessity of the Rosary? The specific direction given to Sister Faustina for the Divine Mercy Devotion to be prayed on the beads of the Rosary is clearly, we believe, the Devil’s substitute for the Rosary. And we’ve seen it used that way with so many souls. The Divine Mercy Devotion is a clever counterfeit which, being traditional in so many ways, serves the Devil’s purpose to get this counter-devotion inserted into conservative-minded circles which the Devil hopes will be used as a substitute for the Rosary.

All these things considered, the Divine Mercy Devotion is something which should be avoided by Catholics. Catholics should say an extra rosary or the Stations of the Cross instead. People should know that, in the 1950’s, the Divine Mercy Devotion was suppressed and Sr. Faustina’s diary was on the index of forbidden books. It was rehabilitated around the world by John Paul II.

This is an important topic that was brought to light by a commenter from the U.K. about "Bloody Mary." Just because you live in a certain country does NOT mean that you have the truth about history. Look at what is happening with 911 here in America or the bombing of Lebanon.

Here is a quote from the book "Christ the King, Lord of History" written by Anne W. Carroll. To put this quote in context, Mary at this time was on the throne and had seen her beloved Church, the true Church abandoned by England. She had seen her father, a cruel and wicked man kill her mother and now more than anything she wanted to restore Catholicism to England. First she abolished the Act of Supremacy and the Book of Common Prayer. Then she married Philip of Spain.

"Then she arrested Cranmer and the other Protestant leaders who had tried to keep her off the throne. She had them tried for treason and executed. These executions are the source of the "Bloody Mary" legend which has made Mary one of history's most maligned persons. The source of the propaganda is a book by a rabid anti-Catholic, Foxe's Book of Martyrs, written five years after Mary's death. In his book, Foxe purported to tell the tales of 273 people "martyred" by Mary for their religious beliefs. A careful study of the book, however, shows that 169 of the persons in it are listed only by name and were most probably criminals who would have been executed no matter who was ruling. That leaves 104 names of persons who were executed by Mary for a religion-related reason.

However, it is important to realize that Protestant leaders tried to keep Mary off the throne and were plotting against her once she came to the throne. They were guilty of treason, a capital offense in any country. Furthermore, the 104 executions were fewer than the martyrdoms under her father or her sister, Elizabeth. Henry executed 150 people after the Pilgrimage of Grace alone, after having promised them amnesty; his total number of victims was 649. Elizabeth martyred 189 in England and was responsible for the deaths of many more in Ireland. Thus Mary Tudor has been unfairly named "Bloody Mary." '

St. Augustine of Hippo (392AD) "The Catholic Church is the work of Divine Providence, achieved through the prophecies of the prophets, through the Incarnation and the teaching of Christ, through the journeys of the Apostles, through the suffering, the crosses, the blood and death of the martyrs, through the admirable lives of the saints... When, then, we see so much help on God's part, so much progress and so much fruit, shall we hesitate to bury ourselves in the bosom of that Church? For starting from the apostolic chair down through successions of bishops, even unto the open confession of all mankind, it has possessed the crown of teaching authority." Since the Mass was not in our regular missals, I was using the Mass for the Annunciation. At the end of each Mass in this particular missal is a quotation from the "Following of Christ".
This is the quotation from this particular Mass. It would be a lovely pre-Communion prayer whether you are blessed to be able to receive sacramentally or spiritually:

Oh Lord my God, my Creator and Redeemer, I desire to receive Thee this day with such affection, reverence, praise and honor, with such gratitude, worthiness, and love, with such faith, hope and purity, as Thy most holy Mother, the glorious Virgin Mary, received and desired Thee, when, to the Angel announcing to her the mystery of the Incarnation, she humbly and devoutly answered: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done unto me according to thy word."

Continue to pray your Franciscan Crown Rosary daily; there is a plenary indulgence attached to it every time whether you offer it for yourself or for a poor soul!

The Virgin Mother gave birth from her fruitful womb and inviolate body to Him Who became visible for us, to Him by Whom she had been created. While conceiving, she was a virgin; a virgin in her pregnancy; a virgin while carrying her son; a virgin forever!

Calif. city: Secondhand smoke a nuisance

By LISA LEFF, Associated Press Writer Sat Aug 26, 8:09 AM ET

DUBLIN, Calif. - Smokers, beware: This bedroom community near San Francisco may soon put you in the same category as rodents, junk cars and weeds. The Dublin City Council gave preliminary approval last week to an ordinance declaring secondhand tobacco smoke a public nuisance, a move designed to make it easier for residents to take to court neighbors who puff with impunity.

"We have to legislate civility at times," said Councilwoman Kasie Hildenbrand.

Hildenbrand sponsored the measure after a constituent complained that polite attempts to persuade the smoker next door to curtail her habit had failed...

The Dublin resident who inspired her city's legislation said she and her husband considered moving because of a yearlong battle with a smoking neighbor.

Shirley Wassom, 72, said the neighbor lit up on her patio, and the smoke wafted through Wassom's windows. Wassom, who is allergic to cigarette smoke, asked her to smoke on the far side of the yard, but the woman insisted she had the right to smoke where she pleased. (and she darn well did - it was HER YARD)

Wassom's son installed a two-way radio so the neighbor could warn the couple to close their windows. But the system didn't work very well, she said. One morning, the neighbor became irritated when she could not reach the Wassoms on the radio at 7 a.m.

"That burned me up," Wassom said. "Here she knows I'm retired and expects me to get up to shut our windows." (ah - excuse me - - YOU are the one telling her that she cannot smoke in her own backyard - i think it was darn nice of her to even go along with this stupid radio idea - i wouldn't have - and yet you complain - she doesn't expect you to do anything - you requested that she radio you if she is planning on smoking - and she did that - but you get burned up - people like you need to get a life!)

Her problem was resolved after the neighbor moved in May. ... (I imagine that this poor woman was driven absolutely out of her mind by these creeps and she moved - she was forced from her property because of these communist creeps).

Btw - I don't smoke and have not for many years - but I am not an anti-smoking fanatic either and i know full well that second smoke is harmless. How do i know this - common sense.

Think about it - from the 1930's through the 1970's nearly everyone smoked - almost everyone born in that time grew up with one, or in most cases, both parents smoking. I watched old movies of my parents wedding in the early 1960's - there was soooo much smoke in the reception hall that it looked like it was on fire - EVERYONE SMOKED.

I know that most people who smoke can smoke for decades - sometimes for an entire lifetime without any major health complications - now think about it - if someone can directly inhale the smoke from his cigarette AND THE SECOND hand smoke all day long EVERY DAY for 20 years or more before he/she suffers any irreversable health condition - do you really believe that someone who gets a small amount of "2nd hand smoke" once in a while - is in any danger - come on!

I wonder - do these communists who drove this woman from her home complain when neighbors cook outside - doesn't the smell of charcoal grill smoke cause a reaction to this liar that claims to be allergic to cigarette smoke. The 2nd hand smoke from a charcoal grill is far more toxic and deadly than cigarette smoke.

Isn't it also amazing that these same people who complain to no end about cigarette smoke - have no problem dealing with it at casinos. HYPOCRITES.

These people are out to take away your rights - even if you don't smoke - i promise you - sooner or later - they will go after something that you enjoy - maybe foods that are high in fat, maybe books you like to read, maybe, dare I say, even your religion!

It has come to the point in this nation that it is more socially acceptable to be a homosexual pervert than a cigarette smoker.

Make no mistake this was a calculated effort to see if they could get a majority of the population to turn against another segment of the pobulation - and it has succeeded!

D's questions & conversation about the Holy Eucharist - moved up to the front

#1 What immaterial or imperceiveable substance exists in the bread and wine prior to consecration and it becoming "the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, the 2nd Person of the Blessed Trinity"?And although I don't doubt it right now for our discussions sake, how do you know it exists?

I know that the substance of the bread and wine changed primarily because Jesus said it did and does. I also know, because St. Paul said the same, as well as the ancient Fathers of the Church and the Church herself. I also know, because God has graced us with several scientifically unexplainable Eucharistic miracles to show us without any doubt what we cannot perceive with our senses.

#2 God created the world, and his invisible qualities are obvious (Romans 1:20). Do you believe the obviousness of his qualities are found just in the "accidents" of things, or are they obvious because we have the ability to observe the "accidents" (that which is material and perceiveable) and understand that there is something more to them than what we can see?

Again - i am not a theologian, nor a philosopher - so i am sure i will state some errors if we keep getting deeper here - but if i understand your question correctly - i would say that in all ordinary circumstances, the accidents are the direct result of the substance of a given thing - that is precisely why what happens at Mass (transubstantiation) is a miracle.

#3 I liked you poisoned sacraments example. Well, not liked, but found interest... anyway, regarding the whole crackers vs. bread and wine vs. grape juice thing, in your opinion, does it matter which one you use since it's not the accidents that are of importance in the sacraments, but Christ's presence?

It is important that it is unleavened wheat bread (what you are calling a cracker) and that it is actual wine - because this is the matter of the Sacrament that Jesus used and commanded us to use (do this in memory of Me).

Footballer gets criminal record for making sign of the cross

Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has been cautioned for blessing himself in a match against arch rivals Rangers.
The Catholic Church has condemned the cautioning of a Polish footballer for gestures which allegedly included blessing himself at an Old Firm match.

Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc was cautioned after complaints were made about his behaviour at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow in front of Ranger's fans.
Strathclyde Police investigated claims that Boruc, 26, angered a section of the home support after allegedly making the religious gesture at the start of the second half of the game on February 12.

Officers submitted a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Crown Office spokesman said: "The procurator fiscal has issued an alternative to prosecution in this case.

"On this occasion, the actions included a combination of behaviour before a crowd in the charged atmosphere of an Old Firm match which provoked alarm and crowd trouble and as such constituted a breach of the peace.
"This quite properly resulted in the matter being reported to the procurator fiscal for consideration. Having looked at the full circumstances in this instance the public interest has been best served by the decision to resolve the matter with an alternative to prosecution."

'Alarming' reaction

But yesterday the Catholic Church said the Procurator Fiscal's reaction was "alarming".

Church spokesman Peter Kearney said: "It is extremely regrettable that Scotland seems to have made itself one of the few countries in the world where this simply religious gesture is considered an offence."

Nationalist leader Alex Salmond said he would be "demanding an explanation" for the Procurator Fiscal's decision.

He said: "It is ludicrous. If they had taken this to court then it would have been laughed out."

Neither Celtic Football Club nor Rangers have commented on the cautioning, but the Rangers Supporters Group said Boruc should have been dealt with immediately after the February 12 incident by his club.

Boruc, who played during this year's World Cup in Germany, signed for Celtic from Legia Warsaw in July last year.

In January 1998, while playing for Rangers, Paul Gascoigne was given a severe warning by the Scottish FA after a "playing the flute" mime - a sectarian gesture - in an Old Firm game against Celtic.

It was the second time he had been warned for doing this gesture.
Sometimes, when a people become engulfed in sin, it becomes so ridiculous that it is almost hard to believe.

China cracks down on striptease funerals

Thu Aug 24, 10:13 AM ET

BEIJING (AFP) - China may be giving striptease funerals the last rites after officials arrested five people and ordered an end to the practise, state media said.

Strip shows have been commonly used to attract more mourners to funerals, as villagers believe a crowded send-off brings more honor to the deceased, Xinhua news agency said.

But police took action after state television exposed the "obscene performances" at a funeral in Donghai county, Jiangsu province, with 200 people including children in attendance, it said.

"When the performance reached a climax, two performers started stripping and to show their charm. They even dragged audiences onto the stage to join them," Beijing News said, citing the television report.

Wealthier families in villages often employ two troupes of performers to try to draw a crowd at the funerals of their loved ones.

After the television report, the local government quickly issued an order to stop the practice and demanded that village committees have to report details of each funeral plan within 12 hours after a villager dies.

A hotline was also set up for residents to report on "funeral misdeeds," it said. The funeral striptease is also a popular custom in parts of Taiwan.

The Sunday Sermon

The Seven Joys Of The Blessed Virgin Mary
27 August 2006

Dear Friend,
About 1420 a young man who had great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was in the habit of weaving a garland of flowers everyday and crowning an image of Mary with it. When this young man took the habit of St. Francis of Assisi and was no longer able to continue this devotion of his, he became sorely tempted by the devil to leave the religious life. He assumed that as he could no longer offer Our Lady these garlands of flowers that she would withdraw her affection from him.
This young novice had determined to leave the friary when Mary appeared to him and told him to offer a crown in place of the garland of flowers. This crown which she would much prefer, was to be composed of seventy-two "Ave Maria's" separated by a "Pater" after each decade, and recited while meditating during each decade on one of the Seven Joys which she had felt during the seventy-two years of her earthy pilgrimage. These seven joys are: the Annunciation, Visitation, Birth of Our Lord, Adoration of the Magi, discovery of the Child Jesus in the temple, Resurrection of Christ, and the Assumption.

The novice began reciting this crown immediately. He gathered the most abundant fruit thereby, and the devotion soon spread to the whole Order. St. Bernardine of Siena declared that he had obtained all the graces with which he had been favored by means of the Crown of the Seven Joys.

All the children of St. Francis can gain a Plenary Indulgence by reciting it. Confession and Communion are not required. The Feast of the Seven Joys was granted to the Friars Minor, in 1906, by Pope St. Pius X.

The joys that the Blessed Virgin experienced here on earth were a foretaste of the eternal joys that she now tastes in Heaven. But, Mary's life was not one of continual joy while she was here on earth. She had her share of pain and sorrow also. Every pain or sorrow that is borne patiently out of love for God is eventually turned into an everlasting joy. As long as we can keep our eyes focused on the eternal happiness of Heaven, all the crosses here on earth loose their sting. They are no longer heavy and bitter but are made, according to the promise of Christ, sweet and light.
Our lives here on earth are a succession of sorrow and joy. And this is a most wholesome medicine for our fallen nature. The times of sorrow give us cause to turn to God for assistance, and in doing so we are kept humble, trusting, and childlike. We are given the opportunity to practice such virtues as: patience, forgiveness, and understanding. And lest we fall into despair from living in constant sorrow, God often scatters throughout our lives times of happiness and joy.

These alternating periods of sorrow and joy are sent us by God for our own sanctification. It is a necessary medicine for our souls. The Blessed Mother and all the saints knew this well, and were grateful to God at all times and in every situation. This is true conformity to the will of God. In living this way we begin to see the hand of God in all things. We learn that nothing happens without either the express will of God or at least His permissive will. "All things work for the good of those who love God."

We read in the Gospels that Mary pondered these things in her heart. She looked back from time to time at all the events of her life and dwelt on the will of God. She sought in all things to do the will of God and she was and is a ready instrument in the hand of God.

The Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary give us the opportunity to see the will of God manifested here on earth and also show us the perfect cooperation of the human element in God's plan. When we contemplate our own lives with the joys and sorrows sent by God we often see that we were not compliant with the will of God, but that we have resisted His will many times.

If we learn to ponder the events in the life of Mary we will soon learn how we are to respond to the sorrows and joys of our own lives _ how we are to cooperate with the will of God. We will see how we have wasted many opportunities by our own childish thoughtlessness, selfishness, and pride. This should lead us to the virtue of humility, and fill us with hope. As long as we are alive God constantly sends us what is best for our eternal welfare. And if we can only learn not to resist Him but to repeat after Mary "be it done unto me according to Thy will", then we will begin to have a foretaste of the eternal joys that await us in Heaven.

New Orleans Awaits Billions in Fed Aid
Friday August 25, 2006 7:46 PM

Associated Press Writer

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - First came the floodwaters, then the paperwork. Billions of promised federal dollars to fix New Orleans' crumbling infrastructure have gone largely untapped a year after Hurricane Katrina. City officials complain that a snarl of red tape, restrictions and unexpectedly high costs have kept hundreds of public buildings in disrepair, streets pocked with potholes and most parks too dirty for children to play...

but for Israel - we can rush millions of dollars worth of weapons, billions of dollars of yearly aid, etc... while our owno citizens are in despair.

Thanks Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, WVCY, James Dobson and all the other satanic fundamentalist Zionists!

Interreligious Meeting Planned in Assisi20 Years After World Day of Prayer for Peace

ROME, AUG. 23, 2006 ( Twenty years after the World Day of Prayer for Peace, the Italian city of Assisi will again be a point of interreligious meeting and prayer on Sept. 4-5.

The World Day that Pope John Paul II convoked in St. Francis' city in October 1986 was unprecedented. It saw, gathered alongside the Pontiff, representatives of the great world religions, from the Dalai Lama to the Anglican archbishop of Canterbury.

A process got under way there, which the Community of Sant'Egidio took especially to heart, engendering in turn the International Encounters of Religions.

These meetings have progressed, year after year, across Italy's main cities and European capitals -- and recently Washington, D.C. -- offering an opportunity for dialogue and for religious differences to be surmounted.

The theme of the next interreligious world meeting and of the day of prayer for peace, which the Sant'Egidio Community and the Umbrian bishops' conference are promoting, is "Religions and Cultures in Dialogue for a World of Peace."

The Rome-based ecclesial movement explained that "At a time marked by terrorism and war, as well as by efforts toward dialogue and reconciliation, religion has assumed a prominent role in public life and in the conflict of identities. Religions are ever more exposed to the danger of becoming instruments of extremism."

Therefore, from Assisi, the reflection of the world's great religions on dialogue between cultures will be highlighted as key to defuse the conflict of civilizations and to provide an axis of a globalization that is not merely market-driven.

Mr. Ken Silva, aka "Pastor" Ken Silva made this statement about another heretic:

" (so & so) claims to be a pastor-teacher in an evangelical Protestant Church all the while clearly denying sola Scriptura, a cardinal doctrine recaptured in the Reformation,

US Congress Forms Israel Allies Caucus
18:12 Aug 07, '06 / 13 Av 5766

( On Thursday, July 27, Rep. Dave Weldon (R-FL) announced the formation of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus to help mobilize Christian support of Israel.

“As Israel faces growing international pressure to agree to an immediate ceasefire, the announcement came as a welcome expression of the US Congress’s support for Israel,” stated Rev. James M. Hutchens, Ph.D, Chaplain (Brigadier General) US Army (Ret.), who serves as president of the JerUSAlem Connection International.

According to Weldon, “During the current crisis, Israel and the world need to know that the US Congress stands firm in its commitment to Israel’s protection and Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorists and state-sponsors of terrorism. The Congressional Israel Allies Caucus being formed today is a reflection of that commitment and will give members of Congress another means to communicate closely with an important ally.”

The bi-partisan caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Weldon and Rep. Elliot Engel (D-NY)

Other members include Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) and Rep. Gene Green (D-TX). At least twenty additional members are expected to join.

The caucus is modeled after the Israeli Knesset’s Christian Allies Caucus (CAC), formed over two years ago with the expressed purpose of strengthening ties between the state of Israel and Christian Zionists. Recognizing the importance of outreach with the pro-Israel evangelical community, the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus will work together with the CAC in empowering Christian Zionist groups.

Coordination and communication between the two caucuses will be strong. Weldon and Engel are planning regular exchange visits between DC and Jerusalem.

New Yorker arrested for broadcasting Hizbollah TV

Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:08 AM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. authorities have arrested a New York man for broadcasting Hizbollah television station al-Manar, which has been designated a terrorist entity by the U.S. Treasury Department, prosecutors said on Thursday.

Javed Iqbal, 42, was arrested on Wednesday because his Brooklyn-based company HDTV Ltd. was providing New York-area customers with the Hizbollah-operated channel, federal prosecutors said in a statement.

It did not say how long Iqbal's company had been providing satellite broadcasts of al-Manar, which the U.S. Treasury Department in March had designated as Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity, making it a crime to conduct business with al-Manar.

Iqbal has been charged with conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the statement said. Federal authorities searched HDTV's Brooklyn office and Iqbal's Staten Island home, where Iqbal was suspected of maintaining satellite dishes, the statement said.

The U.S. Treasury Department froze U.S. assets of al-Manar in March, saying it supported fund-raising and recruitment activities of Hizbollah, a Shiite Muslim group backed by Syria and Iran that has been at war with Israel in southern Lebanon.

In other words - if you try to broadcast any side other than Israel's - you are going to be shut down and possibly be put in prison.
Recession will be nasty and deep, economist says
Housing is in free fall, pulling the economy down with it, Roubini argues

'This is the biggest housing slump in the last four or five decades: every housing indicator is in free fall, including now housing prices.'
— Nouriel Roubini, Roubini Global Economics

The decline in investment in the housing sector will exceed the drop in investment when the Nasdaq collapsed in 2000 and 2001, he said.
And the impact of the bursting of the bubble will affect every household in America, not just the few people who owned significant shares in technology companies during the dot-com boom, he said. Prices are falling even in the Midwest, which never experienced a bubble, "a scary signal" of how much pain the drop in household wealth could cause.
Roubini is a professor of economics at New York University and was a senior economist in the White House and the Treasury Department in the late 1990s. His firm focuses largely on global macroeconomics.
While many economists share Roubini's concerns about imbalances in the global economy and in the U.S. housing sector, he stands nearly alone in predicting a recession next year.
Fed watcher Tim Duy called Roubini the "the current archetypical Eeyore," responding to a comment Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher made last week in referring to economic pessimists as "Eeyores," after Winnie the Pooh's grumpy friend.
"By itself this slump is enough to trigger a U.S. recession: its effects on real residential investment, wealth and consumption, and employment will be more severe than the tech bust that triggered the 2001 recession," Roubini said.
Housing has accounted, directly and indirectly, for about 30% of employment growth during this expansion, including employment in retail and in manufacturing producing consumer goods, he said.
In the past year, consumers spent about $200 billion of the money they pulled out of their home equity, he estimated. Already, sales of consumer durables such as cars and furniture have weakened.
"As the housing sector slumps, the job and income and wage losses in housing will percolate throughout the economy," Roubini said.
Consumers also face high energy prices, higher interest rates, stagnant wages, negative savings and high debt levels, he noted.
"This is the tipping point for the U.S. consumer and the effects will be ugly," he said. "Expect the great recession of 2007 to be much nastier, deeper and more protracted than the 2001 recession."
He also sees many of the same warning signs in other economies, including some in Europe. Rex Nutting is Washington bureau chief of MarketWatch.
The real Lincoln

On July 19 the Associated Press and Reuter’s reported an "amazing find" at a museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania: A copy of a letter dated March 16, 1861, and signed by Abraham Lincoln imploring the governor of Florida to rally political support for a constitutional amendment that would have legally enshrined slavery in the U.S. Constitution. ...

I have at my home a volume of books that is merely a collection of photo copied newspapers from the years prior to the civil war, the years of the war, and a few years after. I learned much from reading these news articles. For example - did you know that the famous emancipation proclimation of Lincoln - which freed the slaves - only freed slaves in confederate states - not in union states! Did you also know that General Grant blamed international jewry for the civil war? He did - i have the 1865 newspaper clipping reporting it!

The civil war was about as much about slavery as the war in Iraq is about "terrorism".

FDA OKs nonprescription ‘morning-after’ pill
Decision allows over-the-counter sale of Plan B for those 18 or older

WASHINGTON - Women may buy the morning-after pill without a prescription — but only with proof they’re 18 or older, federal health officials decided Thursday. The Food and Drug Administration ruling culminated a contentious three-year effort to ease access to the emergency contraceptive.

Girls 17 and younger still will need a doctor’s note to buy the pills, called Plan B, the FDA told manufacturer Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The compromise decision is a partial victory for women’s advocacy and medical groups which say eliminating sales restrictions could cut in half the nation’s 3 million annual unplanned pregnancies. Opponents have argued that wider access could increase promiscuity.

The long delay had ensnared President Bush’s nominee to head the FDA. On Thursday, two senators said they would lift their blockade, making confirmation of Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach as FDA’s commissioner likely next month.

The pills are a concentrated dose of the same drug found in many regular birth-control pills. Taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, a woman can lower the risk of pregnancy by up to 89 percent. If she already is pregnant, the pills have no effect.

The earlier it’s taken, the more effective Plan B is. But it can be hard to find a doctor to write a prescription in time, especially on weekends and holidays. Hence the push to allow nonprescription sales.

Barr has said it hopes to begin nonprescription sales of Plan B by the end of the year. The pills will be sold only from behind the counter at pharmacies — so the pharmacist can check photo identification — but not at convenience stores or gas stations.

Even though her feast day was Monday, my meditation guide is still extolling the virtures of ST. JANE FRANCES DE CHANTEL. Here is a little story which should give you a little lift if you have a lot of boring things to do:

Until the very end of her life, St. Jane Frances de Chantel wished to apply herself to the lowliest tasks of the convent, as the rule prescribed for all the religious; for example to wash the dishes; to sweep the halls or to serve in the refectory. The evening before leaving Annecy for Moulins-she was then seventy years old, just four years before her death-she was sweeping the convent in obedience to the assignment given her that day. A sister who was waiting at the door with some urgent letters for the saint, seeing her gather the dust with remarkable solicitude grew slightly impatient, although she was truly edified, and remarked: "Well, Mother, it seems that you are finding pearls; you gather up that dust so carefully."
"I am piling up more than that," answered the saint, "if we knew what eternity is, we would esteem it a greater privilege to gather the dust in the house of God than pearls in a worldly home."
There is an old expression, gems in our crown. And the most brilliant diamonds are actions that are ordinary in appearance, but to which I apply myself with great love.
Perhaps it happens that when I am assigned certain occupations, and above all material occupations, I think that I am treated badly; that I could do something else. Then let me recall St. Jane Frances and her sweeping. Great actions or small actions, all in the last analysis are only dust. Things vary only according to the idea I have of them. Whatever actions you do-all in the eyes of God, are nothing more than picking up dust "with feathers tied together," as Mother de Chaugy used to say.

ST. BARTHOLOMEW was one of the twelve who were called to the apostolate by Our Blessed Lord Himself. Several learned interpreters of Holy Scripture take this apostle to have been the same as Nathaniel, a native of Cana, in Galilee, a doctor in the Jewish law, and one of the seventy-two disciples of Christ, to whom he was conducted by St. Philip, and whose innocence and simplicity of heart deserved to be celebrated with the highest eulogium by the divine mouth of Our Redeemer.
He is mentioned among the disciples who met together in prayer after Christ's ascension, and he received the Holy Ghost with the rest.
Being eminently qualified by divine grace to discharge the functions of an apostle, he carried the Gospel through the most barbarous countries of the East, penetrating into the remoter Indies. He travelled into parts of Asia, Phrygia and Lycaonia where he instructed the people in the Christian faith but we do not know all of the names of the other countries in which he preached.
In Great Armenia, where, preaching in a place obstinately addicted to the worship of idols, he was crowned with a glorious martyrdom. Greek historians say that he was crucifed but others affirm that he was flayed alive, which might well enough consist with crucifixion, this double punishment being in use not only in Egypt but also among the Persians.

In recent years, processions have taken a back seat to a different kind of action at numerous bars and clubs. And now the peace of Lourdes is being shattered by thousands of tourists whose behavior has become so bad that officials have brought in riot police. The decision came after local gendarmes admitted that they were unable to cope with the nightly excesses of Newchurch "pilgrims" who, instead of praying at the shrine, take to the town's bars and clubs.

At Bar Angelus, a few hundred metres from the shrine, bare-chested men and women wearing skimpy tops and crucifixes, swayed to the blaring music, including hymns of the New Religion like Madonna's Like A Virgin and the Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil. (No Gregorian chant is in evidence here!) Ravers are seen running across the roofs of parked cars, indulging in mock fights, and vomiting into gutters. Acts of vandalism and lewd behavior between amorous young Newchurchers now dominate the nightly scene at Lourdes. One officer reported that "a couple sneaked into the grounds of the Rose Basilica and became very amorous in a very holy place."

Boiled bones show Aztecs butchered, ate invaders

By Catherine Bremer Wed Aug 23, 11:39 AM ET

CALPULALPAN, Mexico (Reuters) - Skeletons found at an unearthed site in Mexico show Aztecs captured, ritually sacrificed and partially ate several hundred people traveling with invading Spanish forces in 1520.

Skulls and bones from the Tecuaque archeological site near Mexico City show about 550 victims had their hearts ripped out by Aztec priests in ritual offerings, and were dismembered or had their bones boiled or scraped clean, experts say...

An interesting contrast...

Consider that the Spanish Catholics landed in what is now Mexico, (Central America) and various parts of South America. These Catholics, educated, intermarried, and converted the native peoples that they encountered. This is where "hispanics" come from - they are the offspring of the native american/spanish marriages. Thank God they did this - or, as we see in the above article - these satanic pagan rituals could very well still be common place.

Now consider that the Protestants landed in what is now North America. Did they convert, intermarry or educate the natives that they encountered? Ah -hardly - they viewed these people as less than human, used and abused them and then stole their land and did everything in their power to murder them all - as any good "bible-believing christian" would do.

The Eternal Father delights in regarding the Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the masterpiece of His hands. The Son delights in it as the Heart of His Mother, the source from which He received the Blood that redeemed us. The Holy Spirit dwells in Mary as in His temple.

Mass murder in the skies: was the plot feasible?
Let's whip up some TATP and find out

By Thomas C Greene in Washington

Binary liquid explosives are a sexy staple of Hollywood thrillers. It would be tedious to enumerate the movie terrorists who've employed relatively harmless liquids that, when mixed, immediately rain destruction upon an innocent populace, like the seven angels of God's wrath pouring out their bowls full of pestilence and pain.

The funny thing about these movies is, we never learn just which two chemicals can be handled safely when separate, yet instantly blow us all to kingdom come when combined. Nevertheless, we maintain a great eagerness to believe in these substances, chiefly because action movies wouldn't be as much fun if we didn't.

Now we have news of the recent, supposedly real-world, terrorist plot to destroy commercial airplanes by smuggling onboard the benign precursors to a deadly explosive, and mixing up a batch of liquid death in the lavatories. So, The Register has got to ask, were these guys for real, or have they, and the counterterrorist officials supposedly protecting us, been watching too many action movies?...

"We're told that the suspects were planning to use TATP, or triacetone triperoxide, a high explosive that supposedly can be made from common household chemicals unlikely to be caught by airport screeners. A little hair dye, drain cleaner, and paint thinner -- all easily concealed in drinks bottles -- and the forces of evil have effectively smuggled a deadly bomb onboard your plane. ... Making a quantity of TATP sufficient to bring down an airplane is not quite as simple as ducking into the toilet and mixing two harmless liquids together.

First, you've got to get adequately concentrated hydrogen peroxide. This is hard to come by, so a large quantity of the three per cent solution sold in pharmacies might have to be concentrated by boiling off the water. Only this is risky, and can lead to mission failure by means of burning down your makeshift lab before a single infidel has been harmed.

But let's assume that you can obtain it in the required concentration, or cook it from a dilute solution without ruining your operation. Fine. The remaining ingredients, acetone and sulfuric acid, are far easier to obtain, and we can assume that you've got them on hand.

Now for the fun part. Take your hydrogen peroxide, acetone, and sulfuric acid, measure them very carefully, and put them into drinks bottles for convenient smuggling onto a plane. It's all right to mix the peroxide and acetone in one container, so long as it remains cool. Don't forget to bring several frozen gel-packs (preferably in a Styrofoam chiller deceptively marked "perishable foods"), a thermometer, a large beaker, a stirring rod, and a medicine dropper. You're going to need them.

It's best to fly first class and order Champagne. The bucket full of ice water, which the airline ought to supply, might possibly be adequate -- especially if you have those cold gel-packs handy to supplement the ice, and the Styrofoam chiller handy for insulation -- to get you through the cookery without starting a fire in the lavvie.

Once the plane is over the ocean, very discreetly bring all of your gear into the toilet. You might need to make several trips to avoid drawing attention. Once your kit is in place, put a beaker containing the peroxide/acetone mixture into the ice water bath (Champagne bucket), and start adding the acid, drop by drop, while stirring constantly. Watch the reaction temperature carefully. The mixture will heat, and if it gets too hot, you'll end up with a weak explosive. In fact, if it gets really hot, you'll get a premature explosion possibly sufficient to kill you, but probably no one else.

After a few hours -- assuming, by some miracle, that the fumes haven't overcome you or alerted passengers or the flight crew to your activities -- you'll have a quantity of TATP with which to carry out your mission. Now all you need to do is dry it for an hour or two.

The genius of this scheme is that TATP is relatively easy to detonate. But you must make enough of it to crash the plane, and you must make it with care to assure potency. One needs quality stuff to commit "mass murder on an unimaginable scale," as Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Stephenson put it. While it's true that a slapdash concoction will explode, it's unlikely to do more than blow out a few windows. At best, an infidel or two might be killed by the blast, and one or two others by flying debris as the cabin suddenly depressurizes, but that's about all you're likely to manage under the most favorable conditions possible."
