So let's get this CALVINISM straight - The following are quotes from the book "Christian Denominations" under the chapter on the Presbyterian Church:

"Calvin's unfounded assertions are to a great extent the doctrines of the Presbyterian sects. He maintains that God had ordained the fall of man. Whereas Holy Scripture plainly indicates that Adam fell by the abuse of his freedom: he voluntarily ate of the forbidden fruit. Calvin, however, makes God the author of that sin. TO IMPUTE A SIN TO GOD IS BLASPHEMY.

Calvin gives the following explanation of predestination: "We call predestination that eternal decree of God, whereby He hath determined what the fate of every man should be. For not to the same destiny are all created: for, to some is allotted eternal life; to others eternal damnation. According as a man is made for one end or for the other, we call him predestined to life, or to death."

Calvinists claim only two sacraments: Baptism and "the Lord's Supper". As far as baptism goes, they feel that sanctifying grace is only given to those who are predestined for heaven, and withheld from those whom Calvin by an imaginary eternal decree predestines for hell.

Since no Calvinist minister has received valid ordination, none of them has the power to consecrate. Therefore when Presbyterians receive what they call the "Lord's Supper" they actually do not receive anything but bread and wine. However, they believe that if a non-elect person receives the Lord's Supper, he receives bread and wine but if the justified receive the same species they receive Jesus Christ spiritually.

When Protestant heretics can't win...

Well - it appears it was not merely that my response was "censored" it appears that I was censored - or - kicked of the blog.

The blog in which this discussion has been taking place is:

Here is the last post directed to me by the owner of this blog:

Well, as the owner of this blog, I hereby declare the Protestant side "right" and the Catholics "wrong"! :-)

Seriously though, Pope - thanks for the discussion - I think you gave us a good record of how a Catholic would argue these different issues. Most of the Catholics we run into can't defend their beliefs like you can. But I think at this point, we are going to say thank you, and have you move on.

Any of my protestant friends, if you have any thoughts to share, in retrospect of this debate, feel free to do so.

I now return this blog to it's regularly scheduled protestant programming:-)

You see - when protestants are backed into a corner - they just IGNORE YOU!

I have been engaging in some fruitless conversations with a bunch of calvinists (most all protestants are calvinists to some degree). Below is a post that was placed on the blog of one such heretic. The post is by what appears to be a recent convert to this satanic system of beleif. I responded to it and my response was not posted - i tried again - we shall see if it is - but anyhow - i thought it interesting - here is the post of the "convert" to satanism and my response.

I love this site. I was thinking about my lifetime as a unbeliever. I had tried to understand the bible, I tried to be saved, I tried everything there was to finding fulfillment in my life and I failed. But, one day it became simple to me exactly what God wanted from me - nothing, because that was the whole issue, I didn't have anything to give him. So, God saved me and it became clear to me that I am blessed to be elected as one of God's people. The theology of predestination is truly from God, because I have experienced the very experience that some of the people in this world have experienced - wanting to be saved, but not being able to be saved. However, I learned that when God began to give me the desire to be saved, then I recieved what I desired, because that desire was a gift in itself. I wish more people understood the bible as clearly as some of you do, because if they did then the church would truly one in mind and spirit. Peace Brothers.

I am not sure if my post on this was accidently ignored or if Jim censored it - but i will try again.
Dominique Coleman

You state that God wants nothing from you and that you are relieved to finally discover this supposed fact.

May I suggest you read:

Matthew 25: 31-46

When Jesus says to you: "Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty and you gave me not to drink. 43 I was a stranger and you took me not in: naked and you covered me not: sick and in prison and you did not visit me"

Are you going to respond by saying - "Hey - the Calvinists told me that You did not expect anything from me - that I did not have to do anything - that i was "saved", i was "predestined" to salvation?

How about when Jesus said:

Matthew 7:21:

"Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Didn't you just tell me that you don't have to do anything - that God expects nothing from you - hmmm - Jesus - GOD seems to say something different here - doesn't He?

I used to wonder how anyone could be fooled by such an illogical system of belief such as "cavlinism" - how they could completely ignore the many, many passages of Scripture that completely prove their religion to be false - now i know why.

They have fashioned a God according to their own image - they do not want to "do the will of the Father" - they want to do their own will - and thereby they deny that they have a will - so that they can ignore the fact that they freely choose to ignore the will of the Father.

They invented a religion and a god that does not expect anything from them - a god that says - hey - all you have to do is breath and then die and you are in heaven - and those poor saps that i choose to damn - well - all they had to do is breath, die and be damned.

wake up

I am still waiting to meet a Calvinist who believes himself to be among those predestined to eternal damnation!

I am going to cut and paste your comments and this response and place it on another blog - since the first time i tried to respond i may have been censored.
I wonder if the fundamentalists will talk about what their "friends" in Israel have been up too - or if the novus ordoites will talk about what their "elder brothers in the faith" have been doing lately?

Ultra-Orthodox Jews attack Christian tourists in Jerusalem

By Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent

A group of 50 pro-Israel Christian tourists came under attack Wednesday from some 100 residents of the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea She'arim in Jerusalem. Three of the tourists and a police officer were wounded in the attack. They received treatment at the scene. The tourists arrived at Mea She'arim wearing orange T-shirts with the words "Love your neighbor as yourself" printed across them.

As they neared one of the squares, the local residents apparently identified them as Christians and began to hit them. Police forces in the area stepped in to stop the violence, but did not make any arrests. Police say they are waiting for the tourists to file official complaints.

Jewish groups hope they can keephomeland security money flowing

WASHINGTON, June 28 (JTA) — Jewish groups gratefully absorbed more than half of the homeland security funds last year aimed at protecting nonprofits — and they’re campaigning to make sure the money keeps flowing.

An array of Jewish groups nationwide is just now beginning to spend the $14 million of the $25 million mandated by Congress in 2005 to secure at-risk nonprofit groups. Another $25 million mandated in the 2006 budget is mired in intergovernmental infighting.

The United Jewish Communities, the umbrella body of the North American Jewish federation system, is lobbying to make sure the $25 million allocation survives in the Homeland Security Department’s 2007 budget, due to be referred...

Israeli forces cut water, power in Gaza

AP - 44 minutes ago

RAFAH, Gaza Strip - Israel kept up the pressure on Palestinian militants to release a captive Israeli soldier Wednesday, sending its warplanes to bomb a Hamas training camp after knocking out electricity and water supplies for most of the 1.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip. Palestinians dug in behind walls and embankments, preparing for a major strike after Israel sent in troops and tanks, and bombarded bridges and a power station.

Where is the USA now - why aren't we defending these 1.3 MILLION innocent Palestinians from the tyrannical Israeli government>

Her Doctrine and Morals
Third Sunday after Pentecost
25 June 2006

The Sunday

Dear Friend,

Behold I discover to thee my wounds: thou art the physician: I am the patient: thou art full of mercy: I am full of misery.—Confessions of St. Augustine B. 10, c. 28

In today's Gospel we see the mercy of God expressed most beautifully in the parables of the lost sheep and the lost groat. For all of us who are sinners this is very encouraging and consoling.

How affectionate and merciful is our Divine Savior.

The first mark of God's mercy is that He forgives. Men often say that they forgive but still harbor coolness or maintain a distance and do not love as before. This is not so with God. God forgives most perfectly. "He will put away our iniquities and He will cast all our sins into the bottom of the sea." (Mich. 7:19)

God loves the repentant sinner _ in a sense _ even more than He did before he fell into sin. Consider St. Mary Magdalen and St. Peter.

The second mark of God's mercy is that He forgives willingly. Men often must be encouraged and reminded of the great truths of our faith before they are willing to forgive. With God it is a very different matter, He is ever ready to receive repentant sinners. He waits with desire for the moment when they return to Him. St. Augustine tells us that, "God is more ready to impart forgiveness to the sinner than the sinner is to receive it." The scriptures overflow with examples of God's mercy. The two parables in today's Gospel are beautiful examples, but let us also consider one more _ the prodigal son. How affectionately does the father receive him! He not only does not reproach him, but even falls upon his neck and kisses him saying: "Bring forth quickly the first robe, and bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat and make merry, because this my son was dead, and is come to life again; was lost, and is found."

Should not this love and mercy of God encourage us like the prodigal son, to return to Him full of humility contrition, and confidence? How can we continue to offend a God who is daily and hourly prepared to forgive us and to treat us as His beloved children?

The third mark of God's mercy is that He forgives all sinners. There is no sinner, no matter how guilty that can not be forgiven. Murderers, robbers, thieves, blasphemers, perjurers, adulterers, in a word, all sinners can find mercy with God. If a man had the sins of the entire world upon his conscience, he need not despair of his salvation, but can hope for pardon. "If your sins be as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow, and if they be red as crimson, they shall be white as wool." (Is 1: 18) St. Cyprian says: "Neither the greatness of the crimes, nor the shortness of life yet remaining, nor the extreme necessity of the last hour excludes from the friendship of
God. His infinite love and mercy embrace all that return to Him."

God's mercy embraces all those who truly repent. The mercy of God is infinite as God Himself, but its effect is restricted to the true conversion of the sinner. "Let the wicked forsake his ways, and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him." (Is 55:7)

Let us not therefore form a false idea of the mercy of God. Do not say: God is merciful; no matter how often and how grievously I may sin, He will forgive me. This is the language of presumption, and leads to perdition. Countless men who have presumed on God's mercy are now burning in Hell.

We must repent in time. God in His unsearchable counsels pursues different ways with sinners; to some He grants many years, to others but a short space of time.

St. Gregory the Great says, Let us now employ the precious time and devote our whole life to the practice of good works and not procrastinate till it is about to ebb away, for God, who has promised pardon to the sinner, has not promised tomorrow to the impenitent. God is infinitely merciful and forgives all sinners, those also who have offended Him most grievously, but He forgives only those sinners who repent truly and without delay. Let us make good use of the time of grace and work out our salvation without delay that we may escape the threatening perdition and be saved.

With the recent news about Israel and Palestine - consider the following:

from comments by Michael Rivero

So, Israel plays the same game they have always played. They shell the beach at Gaza, killing innocent people, pretend it didn't happen, then when the Palestinians (so we are told; nobody really knows who carried out this kidnapping) capture an occupying soldier, Israel acts like THIS is the provocation and starts killing everyone and destroying what is left of Gaza.

1. "There is a huge gap between us (Jews) and our enemies not just in ability but in morality, culture, sanctity of life, and conscience. They are our neighbors here, but it seems as if at a distance of a few hundred meters away, there are people who do not belong to our continent, to our world, but actually belong to a different galaxy." Israeli president Moshe Katsav. The Jerusalem Post, May 10, 2001

2. "The Palestinians are like crocodiles, the more you give them meat, they want more".... Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel at the time - August 28, 2000. Reported in the Jerusalem Post August 30, 2000

8. "The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.

9. David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.

10. Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : "We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return." Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. "The old will die and the young will forget."

11. "We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves." Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

12. "Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. (Certainly the FBI's cover-up of the Israeli spy ring/phone tap scandal suggests that Mr. Sharon may not have been joking.)

13. "We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel... Force is all they do or ever will understand. 15. "We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.

18. "We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' 20. "There are some who believe that the non-Jewish population, even in a high percentage, within our borders will be more effectively under our surveillance; and there are some who believe the contrary, i.e., that it is easier to carry out surveillance over the activities of a neighbor than over those of a tenant. [I] tend to support the latter view and have an additional argument:...the need to sustain the character of the state which will henceforth be Jewish...with a non-Jewish minority limited to 15 percent. I had already reached this fundamental position as early as 1940 [and] it is entered in my diary." Joseph Weitz, head of the Jewish Agency's Colonization Department. 21. "Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours... Everything we don't grab will go to them." 22. "It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands." Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.

23. "Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment... Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly." Question Box

Q. I am 76 years old and have most of my questions answered, except one big one. St. John says God is love (1 Jn 4:8). In Matthew (25:41), Jesus says, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

How do I reconcile these two positions? Where is God’s love? Does selfishness — not feeding the hungry or clothing the naked — warrant eternal damnation? Does God really want to punish us forever? (New York)

A. Theologians have pretty much acknowledged that little further light can be cast on many dilemmas of faith. One of them is yours. How can eternal punishment be reconciled with God’s mercy, with his unconditional love for creation, humans in particular?

Major theologians have offered various tentative explanations. Some suggested that all Christians are eventually saved because of membership in the body of Christ, guaranteed in baptism. St. Augustine, St. John Chrysostom and others theorized that God in his mercy might mitigate the pains of hell. (this is nonsense - only heretics have ever proclaimed that all Christians will eventually be saved - and St. Augustine & St. John Chrysostom in speaking of mitigating the pains of hell were speaking of unbaptized children or those who die in original sin only - that, while they still go to hell - God mitigates the pains of hell)

Another view, held by many in the early Christian centuries and continuing in some form into our own time, is that all creation, including sinners, will finally be restored to happiness with God. (more lies - notice how he tries to make the reader believe that early Christians believed this nonsense - this was done on purpose - yet he actually says "early Christian centuries" - He purposely uses this wording to throw the reader off - you see - in early Christian centuries there were people who worshipped trees, practiced cannibalism, worshipped ancestors, etc...)

Every attempt to explain this mystery, however, to resolve the apparent contradictions, fails at some point. The Gospels themselves offer seemingly incompatible statements on the subject. For some reason, God has chosen to keep an impenetrable veil over most of what happens after death. (The explainations of the infallible Holy Roman Catholic Church do not fail - this man is a heretic of the highest order - God has not kept a veil over this - all one has to do is read from Sources of Catholic Dogma to see the many, many times that the Church has addressed this issue)

Christian tradition does, however, offer some perspectives about eternal alienation from God. First, and perhaps most important, there is fairly general agreement that biblical statements about hell, such as we find several times in the Gospels, should be interpreted more as exhortation than as information. (more heresy - The Church has always taught that what is spoken of hell in Scripture is TRUE INFORMATION ABOUT HELL)

We find little evidence that Jesus ever said anything simply to satisfy idle curiosity. All his words and actions were to inspire us to respond to God’s love by our own love for God and for each other, and thus attain salvation.

In other words, knowing who or what percentage of people “goes to” heaven or hell is insignificant and useless information as far as our Lord is concerned; it does little or nothing to move us to a good life and to hope. Rejection of God, deliberate refusal of his invitation to life, is possible for anyone. We need to know that, but it is all the detail we need to know here on earth about eternal death. (now he is dodging her question - she never asked how many people go to hell - but I am glad he does this - for he exposes even more clearly the heresy and lies of the Novus Ordo Church)

This way of regarding heaven and hell is supported by the doctrine and practice of the church. Hell is possible for anyone mature enough to make serious moral decisions. But is anyone at all “in hell”? We don’t know. (isn't if funny - the true Catholic Church speaks of Heaven as being "possible" and Hell as the reality of our sinful state - this bogus Novus Ordo church - speaks of hell as only being possible - as if almost no one goes there)

Will anyone ever be in hell? Obviously, we don’t know that either. It is interesting, however, that the church’s liturgy often prays that everyone, all human beings, finally will be with God.
Eucharistic Prayer II, possibly the most ancient of our eucharistic prayers, is a good example. After praying for our deceased brothers and sisters, it asks that God “bring them and all the departed,” all who have died, into the light of his presence. Would the church for centuries pray for something that is unthinkable? (WOW - 1. Jesus made it quite clear that there will not only be people in hell, but that there will be MANY people in hell and FEW in heaven - Matthew 7: 12-13: " Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!" - not to mention the quote that the woman gave in her question - Regarding Eucharistic Prayer #2 being old -that is an OUTRIGHT LIE - and if anyone questions it - i suggest that they read: "The Reform of the Roman Liturgy - its Problems and Backround - by Gamber - Ratzinger actually wrote the preface - and this book clearly shows that Eucharistic Prayer #2 is a MODERN INVENTION brought about in the 1960's)

Pope John Paul II spoke movingly of this mystery in his book Crossing the Threshold of Hope. Can God condemn anyone to eternal torment? he asks. “The silence of the church (on this subject) is, therefore, the only appropriate position for Christian faith. Even when Jesus says of Judas the traitor, “It would be better for that man if he had never been born” (Mt 26:24), his words do not allude for certain to eternal damnation” (page 186). (more evidence of the heresy of JPII)

Again, we simply don’t know. And we can’t solve the dilemma.

Catholic Church Announces Sweeping Changes

Written by Seven Sharp Pencils

Big Changes for the Roman Catholic Church
(The Vatican) The Holy Roman Catholic Church announced sweeping new changes to its rituals and traditions. The newly announced revisions were met with much wailing and gnashing of teeth, a favored response among conservative religious cognoscenti.

The changes are said to be necessary to keep the church current and viable with its congregations in the 21st century. Critics say the changes are just cheap marketing ploys intended to stem the precipitous drop in church membership.

Many of the changes are anathema to die-hard conservatives within the church and come as a total shock to those who expected Pope Benedict’s papacy to uphold conservative values and preserve church traditions.

Perhaps most shocking among the sweeping changes are the substitution of beer in place of the traditional wine in the church services. No particular brand of beer has yet been formally sanctioned for use in the Catholic mass. Insiders speculate that the choice of beer will be left to individuals and that lite beers may also be acceptable.

Another revision to church rites that has raised many eyebrows is the development of alternative forms of the basic Catholic service the “holy mass.” Some forty years ago the Roman Catholic Church abandoned the tradition of holding all church services in old Latin, allowing services to be held in all modern languages according to the linguistic needs of the local congregation. The new proposal is intended to “spice up” the mass services by allowing a variety of alternative presentational themes and styles designed to appeal to local markets. A “country & western” mass has been developed for use in the American southwest and a “rapper” version of the mass has been developed for use in some inner city parishes.

Cardinal Sin of the Philippines commented that, “The Roman Catholic Church is not going to allow itself to be left behind and has to adapt itself to modern ways.” Cardinal Sin was one of the prime movers in the Catholic Church’s adoption of digital age technology and was the first to embrace on-line Confessional Chat Rooms in place of the traditional in-church confessional boxes.

Catholic churches will also be encouraged to offer other commercial services in addition to their traditional offerings. Some congregations have already begun offering automotive services. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Escondido, California promises “oil & filter changes and engine tune-up while you pray.” Other churches are making plans for in-chapel Starbucks and other conveniences.

The sweeping controversial changes are said to have been approved by Pope Benedict and to be fully supported by the Cardinals.

A spokesman for the St. Louis Cardinals said the baseball team and its management had no comment on the matter.

Parades celebrate gay pride nationwide
Events come after New York singer's attack, AIDS anniversary

Sunday, June 25, 2006; Posted: 10:59 p.m. EDT (02:59 GMT)

His mouth wired shut after an attack, singer Kevin Aviance rides a fake pachyderm in New York Sunday.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Hundreds of thousands of raucous parade-goers took to the streets from New York to San Francisco on Sunday for annual gay pride parades, just weeks after an attack on a popular gay singer in New York and the 25th anniversary of the start of the AIDS epidemic.

Outrageous costumes were the norm along the parade routes.

In New York, the floats and marchers turned Fifth Avenue into a sea of rainbows.

"Everyone else has a chance to express their affection freely, and for one day in New York, you can be free and not feel ashamed or embarrassed," said Roberto Hermosilla of Miami, Florida, who was attending his ninth parade.

Thousands lined Market Street for San Francisco's 36th annual Gay Pride parade. Marching bands, dancers and floats bearing corporate logos of such companies as Delta Air Lines and Wells Fargo streamed by.

"There's much greater acceptance in corporate America," said Michael Crowe, 63, who said high-profile corporate sponsorship is new to the event.

One float carried a bearded man, wearing a white lace miniskirt and fishnet stockings, who sang Madonna's "Like a Virgin" as a band backed him. A half-dozen men dressed in underwear and top hats danced behind him.

The New York parade marked the very public and triumphant return of singer Kevin Aviance, who rode atop a fake pachyderm and a circus-themed float weeks after the drag queen was viciously beaten. Police have charged four young men, ages 16 to 20, with assaulting the artist while yelling anti-gay slurs.

Wearing a top hat, jacket, red stilettos, and little else, Aviance waved to the crowds, his mouth still wired shut from a fractured jaw he suffered in the attack.

The theme of New York's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride March was "The Fight for Love and Life," but there was plenty of talk about hate following the Aviance attack. The city's police department said reports of anti-gay bias crimes totaled 25 through mid-June -- compared with 19 over the same period in 2005.

"A few hateful homophobes will not set us back," said City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is openly gay and marched in the parade.

The parades took place just weeks after the 25th anniversary of the start of the AIDS epidemic, and city leaders used the event to call for a greater focus on combating HIV and AIDS.

In Atlanta, Georgia, one of the largest parades in the country moved through the city as thunder clouds threatened -- what some saw as a metaphor for the legal storm brewing this week over gay marriage.

Georgia's Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear arguments on whether to reinstate a constitutional ban on gay marriages.

"I have a lot of friends that are gay, and I would like to see them enjoy the same kind of equality and benefits as everyone else," said Laura Martin, 25, an Atlanta waitress dressed in black lingerie who rode on an adult novelty shop float featuring a large bed.

Thousands gathered for the 25th Stonewall Columbus parade in Ohio. Michael Eblin, marching in his first parade, followed a black Hummer pulling a float of men. A cross-dresser in a beaded white gown perched atop the vehicle, holding a sign reading "The Closet."

"For the first time, I'm going to be part of a majority," the 18-year-old Eblin said just before the parade began.

A boy along the route wearing blue tie-dye held up a sign: "2 Moms. 2 Dads. Too Cool."

The parades commemorate the Stonewall uprising of 1969, when patrons of a New York gay bar resisted a police raid.

Yesterday was the feast of St. John the Baptist's Nativity . The following is from the St. Andrew Missal and is information that I didn't know. Perhaps you did but you were always smarter than me.......

Three months have elapsed since the archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that Elizabeth would have a son. The same archangel had announced to Zachary that "many would rejoice in the birth of St. John the Baptist." Indeed not only the neighbors and relations of Elizabeth solemnized the event, but every year on its anniversary, the whole Church celebrates this "Summer Christmas." In the Middle Ages it was even a custom in some places to celebrate three Masses on this day, in order to imitate the Winter Christmas.
After the feast of the Nativity of St. John, the days become shorter, while on the contrary, after the Nativity of the Saviour, of which this feast is the prelude, the days become longer. The Precursor must efface himself before Jesus who is the true light of faith. "He must increase," says St. John, "and I must decrease."
The solstices were the occasion of pagan feasts when bonfires were lighted to honor the orb which gives us light. The Church gave them a Christian meaning, seeing in them a symbol of St. John who was "a burning and brillant lamp," that precedes the "true light."
The name of the Precursor is inscribed in the Canon of the Mass.
If there is anyone who visits this blog and still believes that arabs, jets, jet fuel, and gravity brought down the WTC towers on 9/11 - I suggest you view this video on the construction of these towers. It was produced by the Port Authority.
Keeping Alex Jones in perspective...

I have a link to Alex Jone's web-site on this blog - i believe that he posts relevant news items on his site - BUT - you must remember - like many conservative novus-ordo groups or "traditionalists" - he correctly identifies the problem - but refuses to put the blame where it really belongs. This article really exposes this fact about Jones. It is well worth the read for those who are following politics and the secular state of this world today.

Just when you thought the deification of professional sports into a modern gladiatorial barbarism had gone as far as it could, the Mexicans have shown the world that no sacrilege is too much under the aegis of the New Order. A statue of the Child Jesus dressed in the Mexican soccer team's World Cup uniform is being worshipped at the main altar of the Church in the Newchurch parish of St. Gabriel the Archangel in Mexico City, where it is prayed to before and after the Novus Ordo Mess.

The Fathers can think of no better example of how Newchurch has become not a religion, but a game. "Soccer-player" Jesus wears tennis shoes and a soccer uniform with the number 12, a soccer ball resting on his left foot while he sits on his throne. And this sacrilege has been going on since 1994, "approved" by the Newchurch pastor. We can only think of the words from Scripture quoted by John Henry Cardinal Newman, when walking by an Anglican Church after his conversion to Catholicism: "He is not here" (Matthew 28:6/DRV).

More Nutty Protestantism...

Episcopal Convention Condemns Bible as 'Anti-Jewish'

COLUMBUS, OHIO (6/15/06)-The 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church today passed a resolution essentially condemning the Bible as an "anti-Jewish" document. Not only does the resolution aim to address perceptions of anti-Jewish prejudice in the Bible and Episcopal liturgy, but it suggests that such prejudice is actually "expressed in...Christian Scriptures and liturgical texts."...

Next great California quake is building up, say experts

By Roger Highfield, Science Editor(Filed: 22/06/2006)

A century after a great earthquake killed thousands and made 300,000 homeless in San Francisco, a study of local geology shows that another is due in California.

Today, a researcher investigating the stress building up at the San Andreas Fault using satellite data concludes that there is now sufficient energy for the next "big one" - an earthquake of magnitude seven or greater at the southern end of the fault, near Los Angeles and San Diego.

The likelihood of a large earthquake may be increasing faster than researchers had believed, according to the study, led by Dr Yuri Fialko, of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, and published today in Nature.

Although seismologists are not able to predict when a great earthquake will occur, most believe it is inevitable. Dr Fialko said his data suggested that "the fault is ready for the next big earthquake but exactly…when it will occur we cannot tell. It could be tomorrow or it could be 10 years or more from now."

The Earth's surface is divided into several large tectonic plates separated by fault zones. The 800-mile San Andreas Fault divides the slow but steady movement of the North American plate, which moves south-easterly relative to the neighbouring Pacific plate. When plates slide past each other, which seismologists call "creep", strain accumulates less than when plates "lock" and stress loads continue to escalate, increasing the prospects of an eventual fault rupture and earthquake.

But Dr Fialko found evidence that the southern San Andreas is mostly locked and continues to accumulate significant strain. He calculated the rate at which the fault is moving and estimated the "fault slip rate", the pace of the plate movement at the fault, at about an inch per year.
During the last 300 dormant years the fault has accumulated approximately six to eight metres of slip "deficit". If released all at once, it would result in a magnitude eight earthquake, roughly the size of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, he said. "We can say with some certainty that the fault is approaching the end of its loading period."

The study also showed that the San Jacinto Fault, a lesser known branch fault that runs through populated areas in San Bernardino, Riverside and Borrego Springs is moving at twice the speed of previous estimates and is even more at risk of earthquake, probably at magnitude seven.
Valedictorian Speech Cut off at the Name of Christ

By Hilary White

LAS VEGAS, June 22, 2006 ( – The name of Christ is so offensive to modern secular ears that Clark County School District officials, who knew it was coming, cut off the microphone during a valedictorian address before they or anyone else could hear it.

Brittany McComb is a Christian and a top student graduating from Foothill High. She knew that her valedictorian address would probably be cut short, but was determined to go ahead and mention the one name that is for her above every other name.

"I went through four years of school at Foothill and they taught me logic and they taught me freedom of speech," McComb stated. "God's the biggest part of my life. Just like other valedictorians thank their parents, I wanted to thank my lord and saviour."

The 400 plus graduates and guests gathered at a Las Vegas casino for the ceremony booed and jeered after McComb’s speech was cut short.

McComb was required to vet her speech before the graduation ceremony with Foothill administrators. This, says the school, is standard practice before speeches are read. The school officials then removed all Biblical references and the single mention of the name of Jesus Christ.

McComb, who graduated with a 4.7 grade point average, was warned that if she deviated from the approved text, she could be cut off; but she saw it as a matter of freedom of speech.

“People aren't stupid and they know we have freedom of speech and the district wasn't advocating my ideas,” McComb said. “Those are my opinions.”

“It's what I believe.”

The school district’s legal counsel, Bill Hoffman, said that McComb's words counted as preaching. He told media, “We review the speeches and tell them they may not proselytize.”

McComb said she was not surprised by the censorship. “Even in the Bible it says that the name of Jesus will be hated.”

“But the thing is, it is freedom of speech, so I was upset,” McComb said on the “Jay Sekulow Live!” radio program on June 20. “I was really leery about having to defy authority.... It took me a while, but I answer to a higher authority and it's my freedom of speech, and I had to come to terms with that.”

The American Civil Liberties Union, becoming notorious for its secularist zealotry in cases of public _expression of religious belief, praised the school’s decision saying, “It's important for people to understand that a student was given a school-sponsored forum by a school, and therefore, in essence, it was a school-sponsored speech.”

Not so, says a Constitutional lawyer and freedom of speech activist. Mat Staver, founder and chairman of the Florida-based pro-family legal organization Liberty Counsel, said McComb should take the school district to court.

“I think this is one of the most outrageous examples of censorship at graduation that I've seen,” Staver said to Agape Press. “For school officials to literally be standing by the switch at the mixing board and cut the microphone on a student, simply because that student mentions God or Jesus, is just unbelievable.”

A writer in the Conservative Voice, Ben Shapiro, responded, “Let's assume the school district, by allowing McComb's speech, would have been promoting her message. Here's the question: So what?”

“There is no right to be free from public _expression of religion,” Ben Shapiro wrote, “but there is a Constitutionally protected right to free exercise of religion … it is none of the school district's business whether she chooses to invoke God, Jesus or Zeus (though history indicates that the ACLU would fight for her right to invoke Zeus).”

The Constitution of the US, says Shapiro, prohibits the establishment of a state religion such as the Anglican Church in Britain, but was never intended to suppress the right to freedom of religious _expression.

My response to the heretic that is attacking prayer to Mary.

Just in case it does not make it past his moderation....

I feel sooo sorry for all of you. You are blinded to the truths of Scripture and God. Your spiritual pride is blocking the flow of grace into your souls.

Consider the following.

The same unchangeable God that chose to bring Jesus to mankind through Mary at the Incarnation still brings Jesus to the hearts of men through Mary.

Just as all sin came into the world from Adam through Eve - so too all salvation comes into the world by Jesus through Mary.

If this is not explicit enough for you - consider the words of Scripture:

Luke 1:46:
"And Mary said: "My soul doth magnify the Lord."

Think about this passage - what does magnify mean? When we magnify something - we enlarge it or bring it closer to us.

Mary brings Jesus closer to us!

Consider - As Jesus hung dying on the Cross He clearly proclaimed Mary to be our Spiritual Mother - consider the following:

John 19: 26-28"When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. Afterwards, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said: I thirst."
Now - i know - your "pastors" tell you that Jesus was merely providing for the temporal care of His mother - but does this really make any sense - Jesus, after all was and is God - He knew from before time even began that He was going to die on the cross - why would he wait to just before His last breath to provide for the temporal care of His mother?

Also - don't your "pastors" try to convince you that Jesus had siblings? If He had siblings - why would He have to give Mary to the Apostle John? (your pastors are deceiving you)

Consider also that the infant John the Baptist lept in the womb and that Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost at the mere GREETING OF MARY!

Luke 1:41:"And it came to pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost."

I pray that at least some of you will alow the grace of God to work in your hearts and then you will realize that Mary always leads us to Christ - her Son and Savior. Mary was given to us by Jesus as our spiritual mother - don't turn your back on her, for if you do - you turn your back on Him!

Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost at the mere salutation of Mary - the same can happen to you - repeat as the Angel Gabrial said:

"Hail Mary, full of Grace the Lord is with thee"

and then as Elizabeth said:

"Blessed art though among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb Jesus"

and then as the Church has always said:

"Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, AMEN"
A Change at the Altar
Like Boys, Girls May Assist at Mass in Northern Virginia
Thursday, June 15, 2006;

Most weekends find 11-year-old Taylor Chamness playing football with her twin brother, Conor, and their friends. "We play tackle. Touch [football] is kind of boring," she said. "My team usually wins," she added.

Taylor also loves lacrosse but thinks girls should have the same rules as boys. "We're just as good. We should be able to play the same."

"It wasn't fair," said Taylor Chamness, front, that she couldn't take part in Catholic Church services while her 11-year-old twin brother could. Who's

Maria Meraz, a seventh-grader at Kenmore Middle School in Arlington, agrees. Like Taylor, Maria believes that a woman can do any job a man can, including being president of the United States. Maria, who is 13, wants to help people by becoming a doctor or pharmacist.

Taylor dreams of playing pro lacrosse. "I think I can be anything I want to be if I try hard enough," she said.

With such strong wills, it's not surprising that Maria and Taylor are among the first girls to become altar servers at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Falls Church. Until March, Northern Virginia was one of two Catholic church districts in the United States (the other is in Nebraska) to bar girls from assisting priests at Mass and other religious ceremonies.

Those who opposed the change said it might discourage boys from becoming altar servers and maybe entering the priesthood when they grow up. Only men can be priests in the Catholic Church.

Maria, Taylor and Conor saw it differently. "It wasn't fair" not to include girls, said Taylor, who served her first Mass at St. Anthony's this month. The parish has services in English and Spanish because 70 percent of its members are immigrants, said its pastor, the Rev. Horace "Tuck" Grinnell.

Taylor and Conor's mom, Lyn McGee, said it was odd to have to tell her twins that one couldn't do something that the other one could. "For this generation of girls, there is nothing they can't do," McGee said. "This is probably the only thing in [Taylor's] life she couldn't do because she's a girl."
Taylor and her friends even started a petition asking the bishop of Arlington to allow girls as altar servers. She said they got most of the fourth- and fifth-graders at their school, Corpus Christi in Falls Church, to sign. But before they got the petition ready to mail, word came that the bishop had acted.

"The girls, they were all like, 'Yes! Yeah! Hurray!' They were really excited," Conor said.

And the boys? They're cool with it, said Taylor. "They're just like, 'whatever.' "

Few pay respect to funeral processions
Posted: June 19, 2006

You saw the hearse or the cars following closely in the cortege, you pulled over. You waited. Maybe you said a quiet prayer. Maybe you even took your hat off, a deliberate gesture showing sympathy to those grieving.

That was then.

Today's motorists still sometimes gesture, but funeral directors say their motions don't often stem from kindness.

They show their middle fingers, shout obscenities, and cut in front of cars in corteges, sometimes causing minor accidents, other times deadly crashes.

The final journey has not only become increasingly disrespected, but dangerous as hurried drivers fiddle with cell phones and disregard laws pertaining to funeral processions.

"You see the disgusted look on their faces, like 'I'm in a hurry and now I have to wait for this procession,' " said Andrew Wolk, a funeral director with Tebo-Peppey-Klemmer & Scheuerell funeral home near S. 66th St. and W. Oklahoma Ave. "We have a lot more close calls."

Some funeral directors now suggest to families that they meet at the cemetery and forgo the traditional farewell trip.

A Milwaukee man has designed a flashing light specifically for cars in a cortege, and state legislators say they will resurrect a bill they considered last session aimed at making funeral processions safer.

Laws vary by state. In Wisconsin, it's illegal to interfere with a funeral procession, either by cutting in or failing to yield. In Milwaukee, about a dozen people are charged in municipal court with violating the law every year.

But funeral directors say guilty drivers get away with infractions every day.

"It's the last opportunity for the community to say goodbye to someone with a procession," said Tom Jelacic, owner of Jelacic Funeral Home on W. Hampton Ave. "But everybody's in a hurry. They have to be somewhere five minutes ago. . . . I'll try to stop traffic and I'll see their mouths moving. I kind of know what they're saying."

Bob Schmidt has been escorting corteges for 14 years and regularly sees rushed and rude drivers disobeying the law.

"They just want to go right through you," said Schmidt, of Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services.

In 2003, a 51-year-old pastor driving in a funeral procession near 27th and Center streets was killed when a woman failed to yield for the procession and smashed into his car.

Those in the business say the growing danger and gradual degradation of dignified funeral processions are the result of various societal and circumstantial changes.

For one, more cars today have daytime running lights, making headlights in a funeral procession less obvious. And, many motorists display sports flags on their antennas, blurring the distinction between those on their way to a burial and those buzzing across town.

In addition, fewer processions today have police escorts.

Mark Simonson, head of the Milwaukee/Waukesha Funeral Directors Association, said Milwaukee police don't come out as much as they used to unless it's an extremely large funeral.

"It's quite difficult," he said. "We have to take on the responsibility ourselves and do the best we can."

Milwaukee police acknowledge they're stretched thin and can't respond as often as they once did.

"We tell people they need to pay closer attention and stay close to the car in front of them to avoid any gaps," said officer Scott Beaver, a traffic accident investigator.

Gerald Hausman was sitting on his porch with his wife on the northwest side and saw a car nearly slam into a cortege a couple years ago. He, with the help of his son, came up with what he thought would be a perfect solution. They designed a flashing light with a flag shooting out the top. The portable, magnetic device they named the "Funeral Alert" would sit atop every car in a funeral procession and cost funeral homes about $26 per light.

"We thought wouldn't it be neat if they had a light," Hausman said of the car he saw nearly get hit. "So we came up with this. We have a patent pending."

Hausman's light never made it to a procession. Wisconsin law allows for only the lead car in a cortege to have a flashing light.

State Rep. David Cullen (D-Milwaukee) is working on changing that. Cullen said he will reintroduce a bill that passed the state Assembly but not the Senate last session that would make it legal for all cars in a funeral procession to have flashing lights on their roofs.

"It's one of those preventive kind of things," Cullen said. "You don't know how many situations it would prevent if somebody sees one of these (flashing lights)."

PRESBYTERIANS get even more nutty!

How can anyone believe that a religious body that would even consider such nonsense to be anything but satanic? (but it is the Catholics who don't follow Scripture - what a joke! - amazing ain't it? These heretical protestants have never followed Scripture just compare how the Lord's Prayer is recited by Catholics and Protestants - see who says it according to Scripture - and who adds "stuff" to it - now they are not only adding - but changing)

Presbyterians 'receive' policy on worship

By RICHARD N. OSTLING, AP Religion Writer Mon Jun 19, 3:42 PM ET

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The divine Trinity — "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" — could also be known as "Mother, Child and Womb" or "Rock, Redeemer, Friend" at some Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) services under an action Monday by the church's national assembly.

Delegates to the meeting voted to "receive" a policy paper on gender-inclusive language for the Trinity, a step short of approving it. That means church officials can propose experimental liturgies with alternative phrasings for the Trinity, but congregations won't be required to use them.

"This does not alter the church's theological position, but provides an educational resource to enhance the spiritual life of our membership," legislative committee chair Nancy Olthoff, an Iowa laywoman, said during Monday's debate on the Trinity.

The assembly narrowly defeated a conservative bid to refer the paper back for further study.
A panel that worked on the issue since 2000 said the classical language for the Trinity should still be used, but added that Presbyterians also should seek "fresh ways to speak of the mystery of the triune God" to "expand the church's vocabulary of praise and wonder."

One reason is that language limited to the Father and Son "has been used to support the idea that God is male and that men are superior to women," the panel said.

Conservatives responded that the church should stick close to the way God is named in the Bible and noted that Jesus' most famous prayer was addressed to "Our Father."

Besides "Mother, Child and Womb" and "Rock, Redeemer, Friend," proposed Trinity options drawn from biblical material include:

• "Lover, Beloved, Love"
• "Creator, Savior, Sanctifier"
• "King of Glory, Prince of Peace, Spirit of Love."

Early in Monday's business session, the Presbyterian assembly sang a revised version of a familiar doxology, "Praise God from whom all blessings flow" that avoided male nouns and pronouns for God.

Youth delegate Dorothy Hill, a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, was uncomfortable with changing the Trinity wording. She said the paper "suggests viewpoints that seem to be in tension with what our church has always held to be true about our Trinitarian God."

Hill reminded delegates that the Ten Commandments say "the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

The Rev. Deborah Funke of Montana warned that the paper would be "theologically confusing and divisive" at a time when the denomination of 2.3 million members faces other troublesome issues.

On Tuesday, the assembly will vote on a proposal to give local congregations and regional "presbyteries" some leeway on ordaining clergy and lay officers living in gay relationships.

Ten conservative Presbyterian groups have warned jointly that approval of what they call "local option" would "promote schism by permitting the disregard of clear standards of Scripture."

In the heading to this article I wrote – ‘Any changes since Luther’s days?’ I want to answer that by quoting from the ‘Introduction to a helpful little booklet ‘Martin Luther’s Ninety-Five Theses’ published in 2002. ‘Stephen J Nichols, an associate professor at Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School’, edited it and in his ‘Introduction’ he wrote –

Tradition has it that one evening Martin Luther, while walking the streets of Wittenberg, happened on a parishioner lying drunk in the gutter. As Luther rebuked him for public drunkenness, his parishioner fumbled around in his coat. Finally his hand emerged holding a piece of paper. He waved it before his priest claiming that Brother Tetzel had issued him an indulgence that offered “complete forgiveness of all sins – past, present and future”. Such a scene, as depicted in the 1955 classic, black and white film, Martin Luther, may be difficult to verify. It illustrates however, the dilemma facing the young parish priest and theologian. In response, Luther retreated to his study, wrote a list of arguments to address this problem, and the next day, October 31, 1517, nailed his list to the church door at Wittenberg. Little did Luther realise the outcome of his action…All who call themselves Protestants trace their roots to this protest in the Ninety-Five Theses’

'Tolerant' Governor fires 'intolerant' Christian

A public official in Maryland has been fired by the Republican governor because he merely expressed his personal beliefs and the teaching of his church that homosexuality is immoral. Robert Smith was fired from his position on the Metro board by Gov. Robert Ehrlich, Jr. after a homosexual complained.

Gov. Ehrlich said he is intolerant to any view that opposes the full social acceptance of homosexual behavior and its promotion in government. He said Smith's comments were "highly inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable. They are in direct conflict to my administration's commitment to...tolerance." Gov. Ehrlich contradicted his own statement! He is promoting tolerance toward homosexual practice while being intolerant to Smith's Christian beliefs and the teaching of his church.

Addressing his views on homosexual marriage, Smith said: "Homosexual behavior, in my view, is deviant. I'm a Roman Catholic. The comments I make in public outside of my [Metro board job] I'm entitled to make." His personal beliefs, he said, have "absolutely nothing to do with running trains and buses and have not affected my actions or decisions on this board."

Smith responded to a speaker who said homosexuals do not want the government interfering in their sex life. "That's fine, that's fine," Smith said. "But that doesn't mean that government should proffer a special place of entitlement within the laws of the United States for persons of sexual deviancy."

Smith said he has always supported the transit agency's policy against all forms of discrimination. Asked if he planned to apologize to Metro board member Jim Graham, an open homosexual who called for Smith's firing, Smith replied: "I didn't make the comments to Mr. Graham...I'm sorry he feels that way. I don't agree that his lifestyle is an appropriate way to lead one's life."

Smith was fired not because he wasn't doing a good job. He was fired not because of his practice, but because of his thinking! He was fired because he held different beliefs. So much for tolerance!

If this firing stands, it means that any Christian who states publicly that homosexual practice is morally wrong does so at the risk of being fired.

VERY INTERESTING comments e-mailed to the Dimond brothers.

Many Catholics are aware that on June 17, 1689, Our Lord revealed to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque that He wanted the King of France, Louis XIV, to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Kings of France delayed, and did not obey. 100 years later to the day, on June 17, 1789, King Louis XVI was stripped of his legislative authority by the upstart Third Estate, and four years later the soldiers of the French Revolution executed the King of France (Louis XVI) as if he were a criminal.

What’s very interesting is that after the monarchy had been overthrown by the incredibly dark forces of the French Revolution, which culminated with the execution of thousands of Catholics and the official abolition of Christianity in France – a horrible punishment which God allowed because the Kings of France had refused to honor His Sacred Heart – the sinister leaders of the French Revolution found themselves honoring a different heart. Jean-Paul Marat was one of the most loathsome figures of the French Revolution. He was one of the most anti-catholic and fiercest advocates of terror, who stirred the revolutionaries up to violence in his newspaper The Friend of the People. In Marat’s newspaper, one would frequently read such things as: “… split the tongues of the priests who have preached servitude.” At one point during the French Revolution, Marat was stabbed to death by Charlotte Corday. He became the “martyr” for the Revolution. After Marat’s death:

“On July 16 an immense and blasphemous public funeral was held for Marat. A huge procession followed his already decomposing body, with many chanting ‘O heart of Jesus; O sacred heart of Marat!’… his heart was cut out and placed in a porphyry urn suspended from the ceiling of the Club. During the rest of the Terror, every meeting of the Codeliers Club was held under Marat’s heart.” (Warren H. Carroll, The Guillotine and The Cross, Christendom Press, p. 121.)

It’s extremely interesting that the wicked leaders of the French Revolution honored and held their meetings under the heart of Marat. The demonic symbolism and substitution should be obvious: since the heart of Jesus was rejected by the leadership of France, God allowed Catholic France to be overtaken by one of the wickedest movements the modern world has ever known, which abolished the Catholic Faith and replaced the honor due to His heart with honor to the heart of the execrable Marat.
Another new "mass".

I wonder now that there are virtually no valid priests left (in 1969 the form of the Sacrament of Holy Orders was changed and no longer even mentions the power to forgive sins or consecrate!) if they will bring back the valid form of Consecration - and change "all" back to "many". The sad thing is that even those clergy who were validly ordained that are still in the novus ordo - would have to be such abominable heretics that they would in all likelyhood not have valid intent when consecrating - so even in those cases it would be invalid.

anyhow - here is the story - i have taken the liberty to comment in blue font on a few interesting parts of the article.

U.S. bishops approve new Mass translation
By GILLIAN FLACCUS, Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - The nation's Roman Catholic bishops signed off Thursday on a new English translation for the Mass that would change prayers ingrained in the memories of millions of American parishioners.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted at its biannual meeting for a new translation after a brief but vigorous debate over several small changes in wording. The 173-29 vote on the Order of the Mass was aimed at satisfying Vatican calls for a translation that's closer to the Latin version. (its only been over 30 years - when the "new mass" first was translated into English - virtually all clergy knew latin - what the heck took sooo long to get a "better translation"?)

Before Mass changes at the parish level, the Americans' version must go to offices in the Holy See for final approval. The bishops' leader on the issue said that process could take years.
"Without a doubt, this is the most significant liturgical action to come before this body for many years," said Bishop Donald Trautman, chairman of the conference's Committee on Liturgy.

"It will take some adapting, but it is not earth-shattering when you think of the changes we went through 40 years ago," he said, referring to the Second Vatican Council, where the Latin Mass was replaced by the vernacular languages in each country.

The new translation alters the wording of key texts spoken by Catholics during worship, including the Nicene Creed, the Gloria, the Penitential Rite, the Sanctus and Communion. (soooo - all this time the translations of these key prayers of their "mass" have been innacurately or poorly translated - hmmmm)
Some have worried about changing a fundamental rite of worship that is so much a part of Catholic identity, especially now. Mass attendance has been declining, the priest shortage has left a growing number of churches without a resident cleric, bishops and parishioners have been battling over the closure of old churches and schools, and the prelates have been trying to rebuild trust in their leadership after the clergy sex abuse crisis. (ah - the lovely fruits of Vatican II and the first "new mass")

Prior to the meeting, the Rev. Thomas Reese, a senior fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University and a Jesuit priest, said the new Mass would "cause chaos and real problems and the people who are going to be at the brunt end of it are the poor priests in the parishes." (where was this apostate heretic when the first "new mass" was introduced and changed the way that the Mass was offered since at least St. Gregory the Great?)

Trautman acknowledged the adjustment could be difficult. "I think we all recognize that our priests are overburdened now and stretched thin," he said. "We do believe, however, that this is important for the worship life of the Church. These texts are presenting a new richness that we haven't seen in the past so that will have to be the driving force." (oh boy, more things that "catholics" have not seen in the past - you know - like topless women reading the epistle at a Papal Mass, clown masses, rock masses, polka masses, "DIGNITY masses for gays and lesbians, etc...)

Minor changes to the wording of many portions of the Mass will be obvious to Catholics. The repeated exchanges "The Lord be with you" / "And also with you" between a priest and his congregation, for example, become "The Lord be with you" / "And with your spirit" in the updated version. (hmmm - exactly as the missal of the true Mass - the Tridentine Mass has it translated - guess thats something "new" to these modernists - same with the translation in the next sentence)

The prayer said before Communion would become "Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof," instead of "Lord, I am not worthy to receive you."

Survey results released by the conference's Committee on Liturgy last November found that U.S. bishops were split over whether the changes were necessary, but in the end the proposal won more than the 168 votes it needed for approval.

Some bishops said the changes would deepen lay people's understanding of Catholicism and Scripture. They said priests could use the changes to spark a discussion of the liturgical reasoning behind them, including citing biblical stories and the Latin version.

"All these changes should require ... a certain amount of explanation and allow the people who are using them to grow in faith and not remain where they are," said Archbishop Oscar H. Lipscomb of Mobile, Ala.

Bishops debated for about 20 minutes on a variety of wording changes, some pitting the familiar against the new. A proposal to change the words of the Nicene Creed from "one in being" to "consubstantial," which is closer to the Latin, failed. (i would imagine that "consubstantial" would not go over too well with these lay heretics that teach RCIA and catechism classes - they don't even know what Transubstantiation is - how could they ever figure out what consubstantial would mean? - far to Catholic for them)

Roman Catholic bishops in Australia, England, Scotland and Wales have already approved translations with at most only slight differences, said Monsignor James. P. Moroney, who leads the liturgy office for the bishops' conference.

On another subject, retiring Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who has been leading the bishops' task force on Catholics in public life, announced that a new ad hoc group will serve as a liaison between the bishops' conference and Catholic politicians. He also said the task force had met with Catholic Democrats and Republicans privately to discuss how to best merge their religious beliefs and their politics. (WHAT A CROCK - there is no middle ground between those who support the murder of unborn children and the true Catholic Faith!)

Catholic politicians' duty to adhere to church teachings — particularly Catholicism's anti-abortion stance — was a hot-button issue in the 2004 campaign when
John Kerry a Catholic who supports abortion rights, was the Democratic presidential nominee.

Seven-Year-Old Beaten at School For Father's Stand Against Homosexual Activism

By John-Henry Westen and John Jalsevac

LEXINGTON, Massachusetts, June 14, 2006 ( - On May 17—the two-year anniversary of same-sex "marriage" in Massachusetts—the first-grade son of a prominent pro-family advocate was dragged and beaten behind the Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington during recess, receiving multiple blows to the chest, stomach, and genital area.

Jacob Parker, the 7-year-old who was attacked, is the son of David Parker. readers will recall that David Parker objected to homosexual curriculum in his son's kindergarten class. At a meeting with the principal of the school last year Parker requested that the school inform him of when homosexual discussions would take place, so he could exclude his son from the activity. The principal refused and Parker said he would not leave until his request was granted. School administration called the police and had Parker charged with trespassing. (see coverage:

The school system has since continued to refuse to notify parents of such material being presented in class. On April 27, 2006, Parker, his wife, and another family filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the school system.

According to Mr. Parker, school authorities determined from an investigation into the assault that the beating was indeed planned and premeditated.

Mr. Parker described the incident at the school saying:

"During the recess period, a group of 8-10 kids suddenly surrounded Jacob and grabbed him. He was taken around the corner of the school building out of sight of the patrolling aides, with the taunting and encouragement of other kids. Jacob was then positioned against the wall for what appeared to be a well planned and coordinated assault.”

According to Parker, his son related that one student in particular performed the actual physical assault while, “many children stood, watched silently, and did nothing as the beating commenced.”

"The group of kids surrounded Jacob and he was beaten and punched. Then, as he fell to the ground, another child was heard saying to the group of children, 'Now you all can finish him off,' and as he was down on his hands and knees, the beating continued on his back. Then, fortunately, one little girl ran to contact the oblivious playground aides to stop it.

"Four of the attackers were from Jacob's first-grade class; the others were from other classes at Estabrook.

"The teachers' aide apparently determined that since she could not see external bleeding, and since Jacob apparently was not hit in the face, she did not send him to she school nurse." The family was immediately notified of the incident.

Speaking to LifeSiteNews, Parker speculated that the cause of the attack is most likely what he called “displaced aggression.” “If children hear venomous things from their parents, the children do internalize this,” he said.

“I certainly don’t want to vilify the children in this,” he said. “We understand that skirmishes happen on the playground. It’s taking the child around out of view of the aides, and the number of children that stood around watching that concerns us.”

Parker noted that his conflict with the school over homosexuality is well known among the students. "We are aware that the school administration sent notices home with all the young children concerning the Parker arrest, the 'King and King' incident and the federal lawsuit," he said. “They must know that the children read them.”

He pointed out that the date of the attack--the two year aniversary of same-sex "marriage" in Massachusetts--cannot be a coincidence.

The topic of Parker's beliefs has become so widespread among the students that Jacob says he overheard his fellow classmates ruminating that perhaps their current principle—who has resigned her position to take up a job elsewhere—was leaving the job because of Jacob’s father. Members of the community itself have organized public demonstrations specifically against Parker, in which their children have taken part. One of these demonstrations is pictured on the right. While prominently displayed in the student library are the back issues of the Lexington Minuteman that specifically deal with Parker’s case, for the children to read.

“We’re trying to be patient and tolerant," said Parker when asked if he was considering pulling his son out of the school. "We’re trying to hang on to the notion that the schools are for every child and for everyone. I don’t feel that we should have to leave for an injustice.”

But he added that “There are limits to how much patience we can have. I certainly understand why more and more parents are pulling their children out of public schools.”

Ironically, the school prides itself on its long-time involvement in various "Safe School" programs, which are geared to creating school environments "safe" for students who are homosexual.

Parker asked, "Isn't the school supposed to be addressing safety and preventing bullying and violence? Or are such programs only focused on children with homosexual parents? You can be certain that if this happened to a child with homosexual parents more would be made of this and that 'lessons' teaching tolerance and diversity of homosexual behavior normalization would be forced upon the young children."

The school and larger community are deeply divided over the Parker's stand against pro-homosexual indoctrination. A group has been formed in Lexington to counter Parker's efforts. The 'Lexington Cares' group maintains an anti-Parker website and has conducted anti-Parker letter writing campaigns and demonstrations.

CAIR: 'Marines' Cheer Song About Killing Iraqi Civilians

The song's lyrics include: "I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me. As the bullets began to fly, the blood sprayed from between her eyes, and then I laughed maniacally ... I blew those little f**kers to eternity ... They should have known they were f**king with the Marines." Members of the audience, not shown in the video, laughed and cheered wildly for these lyrics...

The song, posted online in March, tells of a U.S. Marine's encounter with an Iraqi woman. It has been viewed by almost 50,000 people.

Farewell to the flippers: Home prices are falling
Buyers in some cooling markets know they’re in the driver’s seat

NEW YORK - Low-ball bidders, persnickety buyers and cancellations are now the rule in once-hot housing markets.

Rising interest rates and sky-high home prices have cooled real-estate investment, “particularly in high-end markets in some juiced-up parts of the country where speculation was most rampant,” said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s

The record low interest rates and speculators that once drove prices higher are gone. Observers expect housing prices to stagnate or decline slightly, though a steep crash for housing prices is unlikely. (WANNA BET?) As the market slows, both builders and buyers are getting used to the changes...

I agree 100% with Michael Rivero's comment:

"I predict that within a year we will see homes being offered for "take over payments".
